Remarks

There are a lot of extracurricular activities that students can take part in for example there are around 7-8 concept cars made each year each with a different team.

Entrance Preview

CEE (DCE) - Rank 732I don't remember how much I scored. I gave IIT as well, cleared the screening but couldn't clear the mains (the old format in 2005) I opted the college because of its repute and the beautiful campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was a bit old, and wasn't updated since 1970 I guess but some of it was still relevant, although we would have liked if they made changes often to the course.

Internships Opportunities

Students have to look for their own internship. It's compulsory and the internship report carries marks as well, but students have to go out, pitch themselves to organizations and grab an internship themselves. College faculty would help only in the case that you are not striking any luck with anyone else.

Placement Experience

5

Placement season is superb. 3-4 phases I think, according to the bigness of the companies. All major organizations including Google, Facebook, PwC, Deloitte, etc. are invited for the placements and they take a few students each year giving them one of the highest packages in the industry, across India.

College Events

5

As far as I remember, there was 3-4 college fest, A technical fest - TATVA, A cultural fest - ENGIFEST (Indian Ocean, Euphoria, etc. performing each year), Junkyard Challenge, Hostel night (the farewell party to the graduating seniors), Freshers' night (welcome party for the new joinees) there were more, but they weren't official. Hostel room events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very feasible at least it used to be when I was studying it was around 20k per year or something similar. I can't remember properly but it was way less than other colleges, since our college came under the delhi university.

Fees and Financial Aid

It used to be a government (under Delhi University) college at the time I was studying. It was until 2010, I guess, when it became a private university. So, at the time it was under the DU, the fees was anyway very less (around 20k per semester or per year, I can't remember properly) compared to other reputed engineering colleges. There were scholarships as well according to merit.

Campus Life

4

The campus life was superb the hostels could have been better and the teachers could have been younger, but just the hugeness of the 170 acres campus was mesmerizing enough. As they say, if you visit DCE, stay over for the night and the amphitheater (the open air auditorium) would just steal your heart away.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel structure is never nice, it's always the friends we make and the nights we spent studying hours before exam is what makes the hostel happening the mess food was manageable. Although, there was a night mess, which used to open after 11, and that was just brilliant alloo parantha with generous butter.

Alumni/Alumna

I am still in touch with most of them even after 7 years that's how strong the alumni network is there are regular alumni meets. A number of start-ups have come up owned by our college's alumnus. Anywhere, anytime if someone needs a help on any damn topic in the world, there is at least one alumnus who has went through the same problem and is ready to help.

Exam Structure

Exams happened twice a semester (6 months) a mid-term exam that carried 30% of the marks and the end-term exam that held the rest 70%. They were difficult, not because they were set high on difficulty level, but because we didn't study properly.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was nice some were strict on timings, some were just chill a normal engineering college faculty as you may call it young teachers less, old ones more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
