Remarks

College management is supportive to those who want to take any new initiative and nurtures the talent of anyone who aspires to go ahead.

Entrance Preview

CEEE rank 870 in 2002. I opted for the college for its Brand Name and location in Delhi, from where I belong. The college has nice infrastructure and good facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is aptly designed for the students to compete in the global job scenario. Topics are covered to include latest technology in tandem with existing legacy formulas. This helps the students to understand the concepts based on fundamentals.

Internships Opportunities

College internship was a nice and enriching experience with college letter making it easier for the students to do internships in the desired organisations. The general stipend was around Rs. 5000 in the year 2005 and varied as per the need of the on-job training.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college helps in securing one of the best placements and job opportunities presented are also great. In our batch almost every student had around 2 offers, basically one from the core stream organisation and other from the non-core area.

College Events

3.5

Various fests are regularly held at the college to attract talent across India and demonstrate the technical prowess. There was a separate fest held for each of the Engineering streams and one common cultural fest for the benefit of the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government college, the fee structure of the college is very nominal and if one compares the returns in terms of amount of placement received to the fee paid in the entire course, the same can be recovered within 2-3 years after accounting for other expenses as well. In 2006, it was about Rs. 20000 per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Most of the banks offer loan facility to our college students those who want to avail of the same .Scholarship is given only to the meritorious and as per the need basis only.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was great and there were all type of sports facilities available to the students with lush green campus and large open grounds for games.Different workshops were held in the campus. Gender ratio was dominated by the male being an engineering college. But there was as such no particular alignment in terms of religion, ethnicity or politics in our campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels were nice with rooms only 2 years old at the time of our batch. The food was also of acceptable quality and there were both single as well as sharing rooms available to the students. Most of the students coming from outside Delhi were accommodated while those in Delhi were given hostel after the needs of those coming from outside Delhi had been fulfilled.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is well connected through the college's website and there is an annual Alumni meet held at Delhi in the beginning of any particular calendar year.

Exam Structure

Exams are held as per the semester system. There were mid-terms and internal before the final examinations to grade and evaluate the learning capabilities of the students. The final exams had ample gaps in between to prepare for any particular subject.

Faculty

4

Faculty in the college is well qualified and most of the professors hail from top universities. The teachers take different methods from showing presentations to teach theory to taking the students in field for demonstrating the application of fundamental concepts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
