VSSUT, B.Tech, Metallurgical And Materials Engineering

Reviewed on Feb 16, 2022(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

The admission process on the basis of JEE main rank and the admission process I was found from OJEE official sides and admission process also basis on the reservation of various categories and the admission process is already improved.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING because I want to study metals and the faculty students ratio is about 1:10 ratio. Basically, most of our faculty are having PhD.degree. Exam conducted smoothly in our college.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Companies like tata steel, Vedanta, and various types of core companies of our Metallurgy branch are visited they are giving some of the projects and they select on the basis of project handling.

Placement Experience

From the end of 7th-semester students become eligible for campus placement, many companies like Vedanta, tata steel, Pradhan, Aditya Birla, TCS, Deloitte, etc. The average package provides by companies is around 4.5 lakhs per annum and the highest package was 15 lakhs from Amazon. Around 99 percent of our students are already placed in our college both off and on campus. After my degree my plans for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee Structure about 40000 for year of academic section and I got only prerana scholarship as stipend from state government partially about 40 percent and other 60 percent stipend from central government of India.

Campus Life

Like Vssaunt, Samavesh, and Illumina and these are conducted in January, February, and March months. All types of books are available in our central library and in the classroom, there are available smartboards, there are all types of sports clubs also available in our college campus and also there are many clubs are available to organize by college like Idea Innovation cell, Robotics, E cell, Pixel, Emotica, Enigma, etc.

Hostel Facilities

Faculty of the hostel like a warden, assistance warden, manager, caretaker and also all the mess staff are good and meal quality is just awesome like a residential hostel meal. The registration process is also simple like hostel fees deposited by online mode to bank or offline mode in Bank provides the account number by the college.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling....Read More

VSSUT as seen by 2nd years

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
