Remarks

I wanted to complete my B.Tech program from NIT colleges as I came to know that NITs college has good CSE program as my interest was computer coding and algorithm. I applied for NIT Patna but my ranking was not up to the mark for the CSE course and in JOSAA counselling after clearing all the rounds I received the seat in NIT Jamshedpur for the CSE program. The admission process was similar to many colleges but the plus point was that everything was properly and systematically organised.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is the latest and as per the latest industrial regulation and international norms. The curriculum properly digs into the engineering concepts of coding and computer technology and the coding culture of the college is very good. The faculty of the college is very good and very professional they know what they are doing their teaching methods are very good and excellent. They teach us in a way that we all are able to understand all kinds of concepts in the class. The faculty minimum teaching experience is around 10-15 years.

Internships Opportunities

The college has a very interactive internship program and the internship is a very good opportunity to help us to comply with our theoretical/academic knowledge in the professional world. The average stipend for the internship is around 45k and almost 45+ companies visit our campus for the college summer internshipprogram.

Placement Experience

The college placement offers are very good which I really do not expect. The college also maintains a record of 100% placement records. The college also focuses on the quality of placement instead of quality. the highest salary offer was around 36 LPA and the average salary offer ranges around 14 LPA. The placement cell is full of experienced members who have very good industrial exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships through various schemes like the Welfare Department, Govt. of Jharkhand Scholarship, Foundation for Academic excellence and access Scholarship, Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir, National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarship, NTPC scholarship for engineering, Scholarship of ONGC Limited, Dehradun, etc to know more about such scholarship schemes and eligibility one can visit the college official website.

Campus Life

The college life of the college is similar to the life of a student. As a B.Tech we have to complete lots of assignments and project works so most of our time is invested from the library to labs and labs to classes our whole day is spent similar. The classrooms are good and we also have digital boards which are attached to the computer system installed in our class. The college library is good and we can find very books related to every subject and domain.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel room is fully furnished and properly cleaned. The hostel bathrooms are also cleaned every day. the hostel mess food quality is good and the menu is very extensive. The hostel wardens are professional and behave in professional manners and the staff of the hostel is well trained. The hostel security is good and available 24 hours. The hostel discipline is properly managed and maintained.

Likes

Campus location is good but there is shortage of shops.
Professor are good and supportive and you can keep bike sk questions whenever you needed.

Dislikes

Mess food is not so good and if you taking hostel it is compulsory to take mess
Transpotation facility is not so good and you

Placement Experience:

From third semester students are allowed for internship and about the placement is about 5 to 6 lpa .Many students here are preparing for government exam like gate ,ies isro ,barc etc. And if you are not satisfied by placement from campus you can try off campus.

Likes

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

I like my college

Likes

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

I came to this college as a 2nd year lateral entry student . Its a semi government college . The area of improvement include insfarstructure and more faculty member as it has less faculty member than required .

Likes

the greenery of college campus is very nice
the environment of the college is very good
college library staffs are very well behaved

Dislikes

the faculty is not up to the mark , u will not be satisfied by their teaching
student intake is very very less so you will experience less competition
the college campus is beautiful yet very small

Placement Experience:

yes campus placement is offered . the average package is about 7 to 8 lakhs in C.S.E , the placement rate is about 90% for which above 7.5 CGPA is required . The placement rate for E.C.E and E.E.E are also decent .

Experience of an undergrad

Likes

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

From 4 semester onwards you are eligible for placement and internship and most of the students Even get the government jobs and psu and some even in public service commission. The college places 97% of its students.

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment. Life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I also got Birla institute of technology Mishra college Ranchi, but because of very high fees I choosed National institute of technology Jamshedpur. Apart from that nit jamshedpur have a good placement record as compared to other colleges that I was getting and it has a little bit of low fees as compared to other private colleges. I wanted to go on IIT Delhi but I what rejected in JEE advanced exam. Apart from this I was selected for any other colleges. And for taking admission in my college a student have to qualify JEE mains exam with good percentile. Then they have to fill jossa counselling for getting admission into colleges where you have to choose NIT Jamshedpur as first preference or an any other college that you want as first preference. Also you have to secure 75% in 12th board of CBSE board students. Otherwise even if you get good percentile in JEE exam still you won't be able to join any NIT college of India.
