Remarks

The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla Odisha the admission is through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination and the cutoff of tech college is not too high. The college is very nice for the average person like me as my 10+2 marks were around 47% and I wanted to go for the mechanical engineering program and I was able to secure my seat in the college for mechanical engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of the college was very good and to the point, the curriculum fully focuses on t all the aspects of the machine components and circuits. The faculty of the college is nice and the faculty have very good experience and the faculty of the college is very cooperative as they have very good teaching experiences the plus point of the faculty of the college was that most of the professors of the college were highly trained and well equipped with knowledge.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 91000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The college does not offer any internship program for B.Tech but we have to submit written assignments according to the topics given by the faculty of the college. If we want we can opt off-campus internship program.

Placement Experience

The college is not so popular in terms of placement but still, the college manages to reach a record of 80% placement and the college offer decent placement packages as the highest salary offer was around 10 LPA and the average salary offer was around 5 LPA. The placement of the college was in the companies like TATA, Infosys, TRL, JK Paper, HCL, Wipro and many more the placement offer of the college was not good but the professional opportunity is very good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees are affordable in comparison to many colleges in the competition but our college offers various scholarship schemes to help to gain good education offers the names of the college scholarship schemes are National Scholarship, State Loan Stipend, Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST, Disabled Scholarship, National Talent Search Scholarship, etc.

Campus Life

Our college life is very good. The college has very good classrooms the classrooms are well equipped with the proper seating arrangements and ventilation is good. The college organises debates and quiz competitions but only 2-3 times a year. We celebrate Holi on campus during the holiday season. The campus is properly maintained. The library of the college has a variety of books. The cafeteria food is good and tasty. The medical facility on campus is available.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, our college offers a hostel facility but I have not opted for the hostel facility as the college is just 25 km away from my home. So I won't be able to tell you anything about the college hostel facility.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. VSSUT as seen by 2nd years

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
