Remarks
Admission is purely based on JEE Main scores. After getting a good JEE Main score, you have to attend JOSAA Counselling. Cutoff varies greatly for different categories and outside Delhi students. Generally, for general Delhi students, it remains around 9k rank for Computer Science Branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a bit outdated but still covers core concepts required in Engineering. The faculty-student ratio is good enough and there are also many teaching assistants so that any faculty is not overloaded with their schedule. The quality of faculty is also good and so is their teaching. Sometimes a Ph.D. scholar may teach you and they are not as good at teaching as qualified professors. Exams were of moderate level and you can score well if you pay attention in the class and revise concepts before exams.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come for internships like FAANG, Tower Research, Sprinklr, Oracle, Samsung, etc. Stipends range from 20000 to 200000 per month. Projects and not needed as much as your DSA skills. But it always helps if you have some previous experience as an intern or have created some project yourself related to the skills mentioned in your resume.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester and internships from the 4th semester. All big companies visit here like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Oracle, Facebook, Apple, Tower Research, Sprinklr, etc. The average package for CSE is around 20 lakhs and the highest package is around 1 cr. In CSE almost 100% of students are placed. I want to continue working as a software engineer after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are quite high for a government college but financial assistance is available for all those who need it. Many types of scholarships are available whose details can be found on the college website. Fees are about 10 lakhs per year but increase every year.
Campus Life
There are many great fests like Engifest which is conducted in April. The library is also huge and so many books are available in it. Classrooms are big and airy with projectors and ACs embedded in them. We also have a huge sports complex with grounds for sports like football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, nets, basketball and also an indoor sports court for chess, table tennis, etc and also a gymnasium. There are also many clubs like Yuvaan and many tech teams like Inferno.
