Remarks

The eligibility for the course was 75% and above in 12th boards, good rank in JEE MAINS, etc You can find the application form, application dates, and pay application fees on Jac Delhi site. There are many Reservation benefits in my college like Defence (CWS) quota, Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC, PWD, Outside Delhi and inside Delhi quota, etc. The admission process was easy but very long as there were 9 rounds of counselling which lasted for at least 2 months. The admission process should be reduced to 1 month time which would be much better.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course that is Electronics and communication because in this course you can go to the tech field whereas you can opt for the non-tech field also. Faculty: student ratio is good as there are 6000 students in BTech (my course) and teachers are around 80-100. Qualification of teachers is good like there are PhD holders who teach us and teaching method is poor as they use same whiteboard and marker to teach plus they don't care whether you are studying in class, failing in any exam, submitting or not submitting assignments, vice versa. The midterms and end terms are taken timely plus the difficulty is above average.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies come for internships like Sprinklr offered an internship with a whopping 2 lakhs per month for data analysts, Visa offered an internship with 60k per month, etc. There were many projects which were created by students like an app for recording attendance in 2019, a site to provide study material for first-year students to help them in their midterms and end-term examinations, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 6th semester onwards people become eligible for placements and from the 4th semester they become eligible for internships. The top companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Uber, etc come to our college and the no. of offers offered are usually 8000 plus which is being recorded for the past 3 years. The highest package of BTech last year was 1.02 Crores INR(International)per annum, and 64 Lakhs INR (Domestic) per annum, and the average package is around 10-14 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is above 80 % rest of the students opt for higher studies. I am planning to open a startup after 2 years of job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are low as all government colleges, it will cost you around 10 lakhs for 4 years of b tech. There are many scholarships in our college like merit cum means for students whose parents are below the poverty line, GPA scholarships, etc.

Campus Life

4.5

Life on campus is very chill. The name of our Annual Fest is Engifest which is conducted every year usually in the month of December. The name of the tech fest is changed every year it is conducted in the month of April and is conducted by Innova Dtu, and many small fests are also conducted like ecell Dtu fest, homecoming, etc. There are almost all the books available in the library required to complete our BTech, and almost all journals are also available. All the classes are equipped with centralised air conditioners, a projector, whiteboard, benches, etc. The sports amenities are also good in our college, and arena sports competitions are conducted every year within various branches of BTech, etc. There are many societies in which you can take part and enjoy throughout your BTech, and there are many sites and apps run by students I will tell you about one site Fresources which is run by some students of the first year for first year students to help them in mid sems and end sems.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The Hostel rooms are average with each room having a balcony, Lan port, shoe racks, almirah, and study table. The meal is also average in our hostels not that much good and not that much bad, the menu is prepared to keep good health of students in mind like rajma, chana, green vegetables, various types of dal, etc. The registration process is a little bit long but it is affordable for almost all students as hostel fees are very low thanks to the Delhi government. The locality is average as the college is located on the outskirts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
