Remarks
Admissions to DTU are done through JAC counseling. All the admission information can be found on the site of JAC Delhi only. Students must have given JEE MAIN entrance examination. The cutoffs are really high, especially for general students. You need to have a percentile of at least 91 if you want to get admitted into this college as a general student. There is also an 85% Home state quota so most of the students are from Delhi only. The whole admission process is online so it is very convenient. The spot rounds are offline.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have always been interested in Software Engineering as a subject. Moreover, the branch offers great packages. The average CTC for the Software branch is about 21 LPA. There are 99 students in one batch. The faculty members are highly qualified but the teaching methods are quite old-fashioned as one expects from a government college. Exams for the first year are difficult to pass for some students but they could be passed if you study regularly. From the second year, it depends upon the branch you are in for example software engineering is an easier branch and Electrical is a difficult one. There's 1 midterm exam and 1 end sem exam per semester.
Placement Experience
The placements are very good with an average CTC of 16 lakhs per annum and about 98% of students who applied were placed. Companies start visiting for interviews by the end of 3rd year. Highest package- 1.84 crore per annum Average CTC- 16 LPA All the big companies that visit IIT Delhi also visit DTU. After getting the degree most of the students are placed and they choose to work. Some of the students also go for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
There's a little fee hike every year. There are many scholarship opportunities at DTU. Since it is a tier 1 college applying for loans is very easy. Getting a job is very easy as long as you have the required skills. About 98% of students were placed this year. Being a government college the fee is not very high like BITS and other private colleges.
Campus Life
DTU is famous for its "chill" college life. Students get plenty of time to discover themselves and have fun. There are many large-scale events and fests almost every month. Engifest is the largest cultural fest in north India, E-summit, Yuvaan is the biggest literary fest, and many more. The library is well maintained and there are plenty of books from every field you would want to study. All the classrooms are decently maintained and have centralized air conditioning. Though, you might face some difficulties in classrooms in the old departments because sometimes the ACs do not seem to work there. There are many societies that you can take part in. In fact, you can even form your own society with like-minded people.
