Remarks

There was no entrance exam for Chandigarh university. There was only a scholarship exam. The more exam you score in the scholarship exam, the more scholarship you will get. I scored 78 marks on my exam and got 40% off on my semester fees. My fees/sem was 90000 and I paid 54000 after the exam

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose B.E. computer science because this course has a very growing demand and you can get placements just after your graduation if you study well and score good marks. Faculty members are not so good for the high fees we pay because they only teach, they can not solve our higher-level doubts and questions and they always pressurize us for assignments and marks. The faculty is not much experienced and not having great qualifications. There are 2 mid sem tests in the semester and a final exam. Exams are not so difficult to pass. We pass them easily

Internships Opportunities

3

Well, I haven't done any internships yet but most of the students have to find an internship by themselves by upgrading their skills to a good level. Different companies involve students in different projects

Placement Experience

4

Students started getting placement after the 5th or 6th semester. There are various numbers of big and small companies visiting the campus like Microsoft and google but only very few students get placed into big companies. The highest package in 2021 was 1.7 CR per annum and the average package was 7.32 LPA l. Almost every student gets placed in CU if he does has any REappear or backlogs even though the university claims 100% placements. My plan after getting my degree is to get good placement in a good company

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently, my fees are 90000 per semester but I am having my 40% scholarship so I have to pay 54000 per semester and fees for my junior batch were increased We have to maintain a 7.5 spa to get scholarship benefits else our scholarship will be removed. The placement facilities are good on campus but there is too much competition among the students because there is too much crowd in this college

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is good for new students only because there is not so much to explore. You will only find infrastructure and buildings good but not so many places to hang out in CU. All types of Books are available in the libraries and you can issue them for studying. Classrooms are not so good they just feel like you are still studying in school and classes are very crowded also. There are good facilities for sports and co-curricular activities. There are clubs for different activities. There is a club run named IEEE run by an organisation which conducts various competitions and programs to have better opportunities for the students

Hostel Facilities

4

The room is not so good and quite small. The room was created for three students only but now they have added one more student to each room and now 4 students are living in the room of three. Hostel mess food is ok not so great but ok but you get good variations in food every week. The hostels are registered from the site Cuims. You will get access after you give the scholarship exam and register for admission. The locality is ok because the university is located outside Chandigarh.

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
