Any scoring more than 60% on boards is eligible to take admission to this college. For direct admission, an application form is provided at www.kiet.edu before the counseling to fill the management quota seats.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took B. Tech CSE because it has more scope in the industry as compared to other branches. Faculty: The student ratio is 1:14 and the faculty is good and supportive. Every faculty member is either a post-graduate or Ph.D. and hence the teaching methodology is overall good. Semester exam takes place at end of each semester and it is quite easy to pass them if you study with full concentration one day before the exam.
Internships Opportunities
I've done an internship in my department that is Computer Science and Engineering Department in the Second year and an Industrial internship with Wipro and Accenture in the third year. However, internship opportunity is not adequate to full fill needs of all students.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Major recruiters are Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Deloitte, Samsung R&D, and many more. The highest package was given by Amazon to 13 students and 44 LPA. The average package was 7.5 LPA. Around 90% of students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
I think there is no fee hike in the past two years. The fees remain the same i.e. 1,20,000 per year. There is a provision for getting UP Govt. Scholarship if you are eligible but the college does not provide any scholarship to the students. As far as an Internship is concerned, there is less or no scope for an internship with a stipend. For that, you have to directly sit in placements.
Campus Life
The Tech fest that takes place yearly is INNOTECH which is quite good and many colleges participate in it showcasing their innovative ideas and projects. The library is always open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., The library is fully equipped with all types of books that you require. The Classrooms and Labs are fully A/C and enabled with Wi-Fi facilities. A sports event called SPARDHA takes place every year for sports enthusiasts. There are many and I can't count all of them here as the list is very large but you can join a club of the passion you want to follow easily.
Hostel Facilities
A room is provided with a bed box and an almirah along with no extra charges for electricity or water [Geyser]. One chair and study table are provided to every student. Meal quality is decent but you can't expect much from them as it is not your home. It is quite okay. You get meals 4 times a day i.e. breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and then dinner. The fee for hostel accommodation is around 1,00,000 per year.
