VSSUT - a place of opportunities

Admission is based on the JEE Mains percentile. The cut-off for various branches differs on a yearly basis. Generally, the cut-off for branches like CSE, and IT is around 30-40K and then comes other branches. Students have to apply to OJEE counselling to get shortlisted. After the shortlisting, students have to proceed further as per the college's notice. Generally, it is a very easy and smooth process and speaking by experience, I haven't faced any problems in this phase. The admission staffs are also very cooperative.

Exams are conducted as per the academic calendar issued at the start of the semester on the university's official website. The theory paper of 100 marks But overall, the exams are of medium level difficulty and one can score decent marks if he/she starts studying even 1 week before exams. And yeah, the paper checking also matters a lot which solely depends on the subject teacher.

Internship opportunities are also provided by the college. Companies like Credit Suisse come select students for internships after taking various rounds. The stipend offered is quite handsome-around 1 LPA. Intern students work on various real-life projects which prepare them for future jobs and opportunities.

From the 7th semester onwards students become eligible for on-campus placements. Various good companies like Delloite, Amazon, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Cred visit the campus. Most of CS/IT guys get placed with decent packages of 6-7 LPA. The highest on-campus package is 18 LPA, highest off-campus is 32 LPA(Google). As of the 2020 CSE batch, there was 100% placement. The highest package was 18 LPA. The average is around 6-7 LPA. Only 2 students got 3.2 LPA which is the lowest package.

Fees structure : 1st year - 40 k tuition fees, 34K hostel fees then for odd semesters : 25K tuition fees even semesters : 17700K tuition fees. For all semesters, hostel fees: 17-18K Various scholarships like E-Medhabriti, etc are available in our college. Special scholarships for ex-servicemen wards are also available and provided by the college. College teachers are also very cooperative in terms of scholarships. The placements are very decent here. As of my branch, there was almost 100% placement in the CSE-2020 batch. The highest package was 18 LPA from the bank of new york and the average package is 6-7 LPA. Other branches are also placed quite well.

Campus life is one of the most amazing experiences that you are going to have here as it is surrounded by posh green mountains and hills and its close proximity to the largest earthen dam - The Hirakud makes it even more beautiful. There are mainly three : Samavesh - the tech fest Vassaunt - cultural fest Annual sports meet also occurs.

There are 3-4 students kept in a room as per the room size. The mess provides breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the menu. The evening snacks may or may not be provided- depending on the hostel. Hostel registration is done online.
