DTU experience from a 3rd year student

The admission process for DTU is done with the JAC Delhi website. Also, we can apply for NSUT, IGTDUW, and IIIT-D. The admission process is very simple, one has to choose which branches and rank them in order of their priority. The branch is awarded based on JEE Main rank. The entire admission process is very simple and needs no further changes.

The course curriculum is a bit outdated. The main area of focus is on the theoretical part rather than the practical knowledge. The faculty-to-student ratio of 1:70 is good when compared to other colleges. All the faculty members have done their master's or PhD from well-reputed universities all over the World. Each semester 2 exams - mid-term and end-term are conducted. Exams can be easily passed if one goes through the books and solves past year papers.

The internships offered in the college are one of the best in the country. The internship season starts in July and continues till March of the following year. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, Sprinklr, Amazon, and Flipkart all come to hire students as full-time interns as software developers, product developers, etc. The average stipend is around 60000, with Sprinklr offering the highest 2 lacs.

DTU offers internships and placements at the beginning of the 4th year. All the major companies such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Sprinklr, Amazon, and many more come to hire students for full-time employment. The highest domestic package is around 63 lacs offered by Apple and 1.2cr International by Amazon Dublin. Almost every student is placed by the end of the season. My plan after completing my degree is to work for a good company for 3-4 years and then do masters.

The fee for the entire course is around 8.5 lacs which is hiked yearly. This year's fee is 219000 and is increased by around 15000 yearly. Students from economically weaker societies can get scholarships from the Delhi Government. Apart from this, the college gives scholarships based on merit. Each year around half of the students from tech (COE, IT, SE) branches get an internship with an average stipend of 60000, and almost every student gets a placement with an average package of 1900000.

The campus life is quite good and enjoyable. The campus is large and among the biggest in Delhi NCR. The college conducts fests almost every month, with the main annual fest, The EngiFest, being held in May. All the books required are available in the college library and can be easily issued. Some of the books are issued for the entire semester, while some are for 15 days which can be renewed twice. There are many social groups, such as Vibe Crew, Pratibimb, NSS, Enactus, Rotaract, and many more.
