Remarks

The college has above average placements. It is maximum for CS, ENC and EEE students. The college should focus more on personality development programs It should inculcate few extra-curricular activities in the curriculum.

Entrance Preview

The college takes admission through COMEDK and CET. I had written COMEDK and got 16783. I was hoping to get into mechanical but as seats were full already, I took automobile branch as I wanted to stay connected with mechanical. Moreover both the branch shares 80% same syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college focuses on both research and studies. But most of the focus is on the marks. There are a number of technical events happening on the campus but very few cultural activities. The college has there on Lesson Plan for every semester and the course is followed strictly on it. The research opportunity is to be looked by the student itself, there will not be an opportunity given specifically by the college. However, if the research topic is good and you are being supported by good faculty, issues regarding money matter can be taken care by the college itself. Hence it solely depends on the person's activities and intentions.

Internships Opportunities

No. There is no internship provided by the college. The student has to look for it by themselves outside the campus.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements of the below branches are outstanding: Computer Science Electrical and Electronics Electronics and Communication Good Placements for below branches: Mechanical Engineering Instrumentation Engineering Fewer Placements: Bio Technology Automation and Robotics

College Events

2

List of Events: 1 National level tech fest along with cultural fest: This is the main fest of the college. It happens in the first week of April (generally). The budget for the fest is around 10-15 Lakhs. A celebrity is invited to perform. 1 inter-departmental cultural event. It runs for a week. 1 Food festival organized by Bio-Technology Department. 1 Rover event organized by mechanical department. A lot of other colleges participate in it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for CET students is very economical and less. COMEDK and Management Quota students have to pay ransom amount. For CET students, approx fee- 30000-40000 (per year) For COMEDK , approx fee- 1,50,000-1,75,000 For Mangament, approx fee- 5,00,000-8,00,000 ( Seat charge) + COMEDK fee It is advisable, in order to join this college, the best way is through CET. But for outsiders COMEDK is only the option.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships available for backward students. Various Scholarships are offered to these students. One should contact college office for detailed information. There is no scholarship provided for scoring good or highest marks in the campus.

Campus Life

3.5

Boring campus life. There is nothing special in it. As said earlier, the college focuses on marks and placements, thus you would find the addition of new courses but nothing good for students cultural life. Most of the students are from nearby places (Hubballi- Dharwad) or nearby villages. It has a good ratio of the boy: girl. Less extracurricular activities, however a good scope for sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Table-tennis, Wrestling, and Marham.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are very ordinary, nothing special. The hostels are expensive. Whereas the mess food is OK in the beginning but it goes down as the semester picks up. Only breakfast is fine, rest is below average. Many students eat outside. There are many private messes available outside. For a North Indian, He/She would be having the toughest of the times with the food.

Alumni/Alumna

The college is running from 1948 and has recently celebrated the centenary of its society. This itself provides enough evidence for the kind of alumni network it would be having. Many current entrepreneurs have also passed from this college. It has good connectivity with the graduate students and this connectivity has helped college in getting placements

Exam Structure

The semester is very busy with a number of different labs as part of time table. Each lab of 3 hours gets exhausting for the students. The exams conducted by the college are: Minor1 (excludes Practical) Minor2 (excludes Practical) Semester End (includes Practicals) In the minors, two tests are conducted in a single day and there 3-4 hours of given between them. There is no day gap as well. The college curriculum is very busy and before anyone realizes, the semester is over.

Admission

The admission to this renowned institute begins by the 2nd week of July. For COMEDK students, it starts as soon as 1st counseling ends and closes by the end of the month. After selecting the college in counseling, you will be handled a confirmation letter on which the college name and branch name would be written. While selecting the college you have to pay an advance fee (I paid Rs 50,000). The confirmation letter along with qualification details as per the requirement of the college needs to be produced to the college and later amount to be paid then. After all these admission processes are successful. You would be handed application form and a photo would be clicked for issuing college ID. The original documents would be kept by the college. After all these processes, YOU ARE ADMITTED IN THE COLLEGE

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties are M.tech while some of them are Ph.D. with the best institutes of the country. There are faculties who have passed from the college itself and are now teaching in there. Information level of the professors to some extent are adequate although there few intelligent ones but those are few. Thus it is the person to look and search for the answers by itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the NIAT curriculum around four out of five. In my opinion, it is good that the curriculum is not only based on theoretical studies. The inclusion of coding, projects, assignments, and practical knowledge is quite engaging for the students, as they can apply the acquired information in practice. Additionally, I find the curriculum up to date compared to the standard Btech syllabus, which mainly focuses on theoretical background. However the curriculum could have fewer assignments, as some of them are rather time consuming and require additional study to achieve a better understanding of a particular subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally, I was interested in ECE course since I liked working around chips and was intrigued by how they worked, which is what led me to choosing this course. The curriculum is not the best for real-world applications since the syllabus is pretty outdated. The teaching does involve smart boards and can be visual as well, but it can be utilized better by the professors. A semester lasts for around 5 months, with the last month only involving SEE (Semester End Examinations) and the first four months consisting of 2 CIE tests in the 2nd and 4th months. It also involves practical examinations.

Placement Experience:

The on-campus usually starts in 6th Semester. A company called MathCo was the first company it came for the role of analyst. Around 5-7 people got selected. The average package would be usually around 4-4.5 LPA, but highest package was 6.25 from PlanetSpark for role of Sales. The percentage is nearly to 10-12%. After degree, get a job and work for atleast 2 years for learning current trends is my basic thought as of now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course I adopted since I couldn't do my neet. In 2nd year I thought of taking CSE . I GOT MANY SEATS IN OTHER COLLEGES FOR OTHER COURCES. But I wanted to adopt only CSE based . I mean social or economical or design thinking and scientific foundation.. these courses are of no use while learning engineering so this might be the drawback . Exams are conducted very strictly in our clg and I appreciate that !
