Remarks

The college takes admission on basis of JOSAA, CSAB, and direct Jee entry. But due to covid-19, at that time, the college decided to take admission on basis of 10+2 merit basis and the cut-off was 95.6% (in CSE).

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was smooth. Regular assignments and projects are given to us. The faculty is awesome and perfectionists in their respective fields. They clear every doubt so neatly. Around 120 seats are allotted each year for the CSE branch.

Internships Opportunities

From the fifth semester, the university starts giving us paid internships. Which leads us to experience and ultimately good company and a good package. Many seniors help us too in the internships. We get to learn too many things through them.

Placement Experience

Placements are quite good in this college. Companies like Wipro, ZScaler, TCS, etc. visit our college. The University concluded 2022 placements with 455 students placed in leading companies such as Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Accenture, and many others. Out of all, Cognizant emerged as the top recruiter with the highest number of students selected during SMVDU placements in 2022.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual tuition fee is Rs.1.32 lakhs, hostel fees are Rs.20,000, and mess fee is Rs.24000.There is a scholarship also for both jee and direct entry students. I score 9.4 cgpa in the 1st sem and I also got a scholarship from smvdu.

Campus Life

Regular sports events, cultural events, and fests are held in this college. Tech fest "Titiksha", the annual fest "Resurgence", and sports fest "Sarang" are held in this college. There are many active clubs in this college like the Photography club-Atelier(very active club), coding club, astronomy club-Vyom, dance club, music club, technical backstage club, fine arts club, theatre club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

The Hostel facilities are good. There are five hostels for a boys-Basholi hostel, Nilgiri Hostel, Vidyanchal Hostel, Trikuta Hostel, the Kailash hostel, and girls-Shivalik Hostel, Vaishnavi hostel. Hostel annual charges are Rs.20,000 and mess charges are Rs.2400 which is quite affordable. Food quality is good and it tastes like "home food".There is a badminton court, gym, table tennis room, reading area, etc. in our hostel.

My opinion about nit

Likes

I like the diversity and culture of college students come from all states each festival is celebrated with fun .
The infrastructure is good providing facilities like library, amphitheatre, auditorium etc.
I like college ground where we can walk and relieve from academics

Dislikes

College infrastructure can be improved in rainy season there is water accumulation at many places , water drainage system should be there .

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester student become eligible for placement. The companies visited are L &T for civil which is big company and select many students, jsw for mechanical and increff , paypal , microsoft, visa ,make my trip for IT and CSE

Likes

One thing I liked about my college is Huge campus area.
Other thing l liked about my college is good infrastructure
Another thing I liked about my college is well experienced faculty

Dislikes

The thing I disliked about my college is delay in your any complain

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in 8th semester. Companies like L&T construction, Ambuja cement, tata , wipro, jio , Berger, infosys, IBM and many more visit the college. Highest package is around 17 LPA and average package is around 5 LPA . Almost 30 percent students get placement. My plan is to get off campus placement.

Likes

College's weather is too pleasant and the air quality is also good
The environment is also very good and also the view is very nice
Seniors are very friendly in college and also the college has strict punishment for ragging.

Dislikes

The hostel food is not upto the level that a student expect.
The facility sometimes does not able to connect with Students
Hostels are very far away from the department and students have to move very far from the hostel

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is Average and the students are eligible in 7 semester for placement. If the student has any backlog in any of the semester they can't sit in the college placement and also it has minimum criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The percentage of students getting placement is very low sadly

A comprehensive Review

Likes

Firstally i like in my college is hostel it is located in college campus .
The second thing like in my college is campus area located in between mountain.
the last thing is about one teacher he help me in everything.

Dislikes

The first thing i do not like is transport in my college it is the major problem in my college.
The second thing is there are no proper lectures everyday one of them faculty is absent
The last thing is not a proper medical facielities

Placement Experience:

The placement at my college are fairly strong, with a focus on proving opportunities for student in both technical field and non-technical fields. various reputed companies visit our campus for placement like TCS, infosys, and many more.The highest package aroun INR 40 LPA. the majority of the offers are for cybersecurity. My plan is for business after the degree.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
