Course Curriculum Overview
Our course curriculum is more of a traditional engineering college in which we have to weld, etc. in the first year. After that, you have to study your particular fields like electrical, etc. I choose this course i.e. ECE, through this I can get a tech placement or go into the core of ECE as semiconductors is an emerging industry. Our class strength is 75 in the first year and 60 for the rest of the three years. The professors are well-qualified. You cannot find any MTech students teaching you all of them are either Ph.D. holders or pursuing Ph.D. from dtu itself. Teaching methods are decent like you have to study on your own. There is one midterm and one end term in one semester and is very easy to pass like if you study about a week ago you can get a decent cgpa.
Internships Opportunities
Sprinkle offered an internship for a stipend of 2 lakhs per month. But there are very limited offers for an internship only 20% got intern offers on campus. Like all major companies visited the college for summer internships like Microsoft, cesium, D.E shaw, Directi, and Spendia.
Placement Experience
Dtu is a tier-A college in terms of placements. The highest package was 1.8 crores PA offered by amazon (international) and the average placement is 15.31 LPA which is also a very very good placement. Students from the 5th semester can get an internship. The highest stipend was 2 lakh per month and the average is 59k. And for job offers students started applying from the 6th and 7th sem. One of my seniors from my ece department in 7th sem got a 65lpa offer from amazon India. Almost 80% got campus placement. About 300 visited the college last year with approx. 2100 offers. Most probably I am also going for tech placement after my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee is about 219000 a year which is quite expensive for most of the students and there is a 10% increment in fees every year. But you can get scholarships from dtu as well as the Delhi government also. There is a 100% scholarship for students having an annual income under 1 lakh rupees. Campus placements are very very good the average placement is around 15 lakhs. You can also apply for a loan for your fees. There is an SBI branch on campus you can apply over there. There is a scholarship on dtu website for students and one district website mcm is the best scholarship for obc students. The internship is quite decent not all students got it but if you work for it you can surely make it worth it.
Campus Life
Campus life is very chill. There are about 150 societies so you can join if you are interested. The infrastructure of the college is very good. The campus is spread over 160 acres of land and the classrooms are also quite decent. The college organizes many fests like the yuvaan society organizes north India's biggest film and literature fest. The cultural council dtu organize Engifest in which approx. 10-15 k attend from all over Delhi colleges in February. Aavahan is a sports council that organizes a sports fest in which approx. 10000 students came to dtu for a sports event in march. You can find like all books of your curriculum in the library means you do not have to buy them only issue them from the library. Dtu is also very active in organizing sports events like arena is an inter-department sports competition every year. And have very very nice grounds and nets courts for almost all sports. Fresources is a website run by a 2nd year dtu ece student that provides a to z content for JAC colleges.
Admission
You have to clear class 12th with OCM with 60% and clear jee mains examination to get admission into dtu. After jee mains, you have to register for JAC Delhi (which is counseling for Delhi govt colleges). JAC Delhi application fee is 1500 and form filling is started after 15-20 days after jee mains examination. There are two types of reservation one is a home state and the other is a category. So I am an OBC home state candidate (your school has to be in Delhi, then only considered as a home state). There is a lot of relaxation for home-state candidates. Improvements in counseling rounds are they should declare results on time which they didn't do at all.
Other Applied Colleges
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University - [GGSIPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Definitely dtu is way better than ipu that's why i didn't choose ipu.
