Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose B.Tech because of the respect and Engineer receives for doing B.Tech from any Govt. college. B.Tech students are quite versatile and open to a plethora of opportunities for themselves. Faculty to student ratio in DTU is Okaish. In the Electrical Branch, the ratio is somewhat 1:6. Faculties are well qualified, and many have done PhD from renowned colleges. Few professors lay much emphasis on teaching. End sems are held in May and December. The papers are made accordingly, and it's easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

Qualcomm - Rs. 45000 (Role: Electrical and Electronics) Texas Instruments - Rs. 45000 (Role: Electrical and Electronics) Bechtel - Rs. 15000 (Role: Core Electrical) Google - Rs. 80000 (Role: Tech) Microsoft - Rs. 70000 (Role: Tech)

Placement Experience

4.5

4th-year students, from the 7th semester, are eligible to sit for on-campus placement. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Bain&Co., McKinsey, Texas Instruments and Qualcomm are some of the top companies that visit our college every year. There are 100+ offers made every year. The highest domestic package ranges to 40 lpa by apple and the average package is around 15 LPA. More than 80% of students get on-campus placements. I am going to join Bain&Co. as an analyst after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees have to be paid at the beginning of the new session which generally starts in August. My first-year fees in 2019 were Rs. 1.7 lakhs and my fourth-year fees in 2023 became 2.14 lakhs. Students belonging to the Economically Weaker Section are provided with concessions. Scholarships are also given to merit students. I did not receive any scholarship or financial assistance from the college. The college provides a University internship, USIP, with a stipend of Rs. 3500/month. I worked in that for 6 months under the assistance of a professor. I also got a job from my college in Bain & Co. with CTC Rs. 14 lakhs.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life at DTU is the best. If you do not want to study hard for 4 years, you should definitely come here. Every now and then, there is some fest organised by societies of the college. Engifest, North India's best cultural fest is held in DTU in the month of February. Tech fest too is organised in February. The library is quite well maintained and you will get access to all books and journals required. All classrooms are equipped with ACs and projectors. DTU has great sports facilities with badminton, lawn tennis, kabaddi, and basketball courts. There is Cricket and football ground too. Indoor sports are also available.

Admission

To get into DTU, you need to clear the JEE Mains exam which is held twice a year and conducted by NTA. Session 1 registrations begin in November-December and are held in the last week of January. Session 2 registration begins in February and is held in March. Application forms are available on the NTA website. The application fee in 2019 was Rs. 500 for every session.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
