Detailed review about DTU

I choosed cse because I was interested in tech and also because of the high placements that cse has. Student:faculty ratio is very high over here. A lot of students are here in dtu which i feel creates a lot of competition at times of placements and also leads to less teacher interaction and senior-junior interaction. Faculty are highly educated but their passion for teaching is not up to the mark. Also syllabus followed is 20 to 30 years older which is not relevant in today's world. But this is the situation in every engineering college (including iit and nit) except IIITs. This time dtu made a huge blunder by not giving a single preparation holiday between exams. This created a lot of pressure on every student and it became very difficult to cover the syllabus. But the exams were easy and if someone studies well before exam, they can score well with average effort also.

Internship opportunities in dtu are great.Top companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, oracle,apple,Morgan Stanley, Tower Research, Accenture, Adobe, Uber, visit our college for placements. Stipends given are in the range of 25K to 1.5 lakhs. Average stipend is about 60K. Students need to make good command over dsa and build good projects using different tech stacks to get great internships.

Students get full time placement opportunities in fourth year. However internship opportunities come in the second and third year. Every big mnc like google,amazon, microsoft ,flipkart,apple come here for recruitment. Over 400 companies come for recruitment. In 2022 the average placement was about 16 lpa for entire college and 25 lpa in cse branch. Record placements were seen in 2022. Number of offers were close to 2400 approx and almost all the students(about 90percent) were placed who appeared for placements in 2022. Highest international package was about 1.15 crore which was offered to 15 students form amazon dublin. Highest domestic package was 65 lpa given by apple. My plan is to get a tech( full stack devloper) job with a decent package in any of these companies. However placement opportunities are really great, i feel that due to huge competition in dtu beacuse of large student strength, it becomes really competitive to get that dream package of above 40 lpa.

Fees structure for btech for general candidate is approx 9 lakhs for four years. If we include food,hostel stuff it goes upto 13-14 lakh in 2023. However there are lots and lots of scholarship opportunities. There are scholarship opportunities for girls, financially weaker students and disabled students also. Loan are also provided easily to the students who demand it at a fair interest rate which they can pay when they get their job. Placements opportunities are the best in dtu. Over 400 companies to recruit. So anyone can easily get off their loan if they do efforts.

College life at dtu is the best. Our annual cultural fest is engifest. It is the biggest fest in north india. It is conducted in month of February. It is one of the best experience in our college to attend engifest . This time around sunidhi chouhan, amit trivedi and kaleshi chori guys came in our engifest and they just made the atmosphere crazy. Library of DTU includes every book and journal which student needs. Students can go to library at any time during day and study in a peace environment. The infrastructure of the Library is very good. The classrooms for first year students in the pragya bhawan are very good. But apart from that classrooms are not that up to the marks. They are older and don't have ac. Sports facilities in the college are decent. There is gym , sports complex as well as big grounds for playing sports. Various inter and intra college sports competition are organised. There are a lot of student societies in dtu for every damn interest.

There are over ten different hostels in dtu. The new hostels ie apj hostel for boys and virangna hostel for girls are very good in every aspect . However as I am in first year, I will give details about the first year boys hostel ie the aryabhatta hostel. The room conditions are not up to the mark. We are provided with one single seater room and one double seater room. Rooms are of very small size. There is no ac and indian toilets are present in our aryabhatta hostel. But after a month all of us got accustomised to the hostel environment. Hostel life is very good because of the friends we create and the banters which take place at night . The group studies and all is very much fun in the hostel. Aryabhatta mess has very bad food quality. I joined it for a month , after that i left it and joined a mess just outside dtu ie mahamaya which serves decent food at same price Registration process for dtu can be done from hostel section on dtu website. First year hostel fees is 26k per sem

Entrance exam for admission in btech courses in dtu is JEE MAINS. There are different cutoffs for different courses and different categories in jee mains. Cutoffs for jee mains can be seen on collegedunia website only. 85 percent seats are reserved for delhi candidates. Cutoff in my case for cse gngno category was about 5000 in last round. Application form for admission can be find out on the jac delhi website. Application fees is a non-refundable 1500 rupees. Application gets opened every year before jee mains . Brochure is released on jac delhi website which gives complete information about steps to be followed during application process. The only improvement which I want to see in jac delhi system is that they should release cutoffs at the time given by them earlier . If they are not able to give cutoffs on time, they should either send a notification to applicants or give a update on their website.
