Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course for I always aspired of becoming an engineer. I got myself enrolled in FIITJEE Punjabi Bagh, Delhi to take coaching for the same. There are usually 40-50 students in a batch. But there is one batch every year that consists of top rankers and its capacity is only 20 students. So yeah you feel a sense of competition here itself The faculty are all IIT graduates. Many of them have quit their high-paying jobs to pursue teaching as a profession The exams would be held every month so that students identity and rectify their mistakes. There were no criteria such as passing or so, but everyone would try to perform well in the competition.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't had my internship yet but according to the placement cell data- the highest stipend was 2 lakhs per month and the average stipend was 45000. The highest stipend was given by sprinklr. Companies like apple offer a stipend of 1.4 lakhs and microsoft around 1.2 lakhs
Placement Experience
At the start of the 7th semester, the placement season begins and it lasts for over 3 months. Every year, over 400 companies visit the campus and give whooping packages. The highest package in 2022 was 1.8 cr(international) and 64.23 lpa (domestic). A total of 2459 offers were made approximately to a placement percentage of 99.97%. My plans after getting my degree are to procure my dream job and my dream package.
Fees and Financial Aid
At my college, DTU, the annual fee for btech is approx 2.3 lakhs 1st year- 2.19 lakh 2nd year- 2.26 lakh 3rd year - 2.37 lakh 4th year - 2.46 lakh There has been a fee hike. A few years back..the cost of the study was barely 50k per annum but now it's almost 5× The on-campus internship season starts when you give the final exams of 2nd year(or of 4th semester). A lot of companies take interviews on the college campus and students get stipends as high as 2 lakhs per month. Most companies provide PPO. (pre-placement offer) to their high-performing interns. The student completed his btech degree and can directly work for the company at an earlier discussed package.
Campus Life
DTU has a huge campus spread over 190 acres. The infrastructure is old but top-class. The labs and library are huge. All kinds of books are available in the library. DTU has a chill life... there are fests every month conducted by different societies. * YUVAAN, The annual film and literature festival * INVICTUS, the tech fest * ENGIFEST, the cultural fest They are conducted over a span of 10 days in February. In 2023, the fest was conducted from 10th Feb to 19th Feb. Social life is good here. There are cafes in the nearby place. There are a lot of groups and societies here in DTU.. the UGV team, AUV team, cultural council, and so many more There is a huge sports complex with cricket, football, basketball, lawn tennis, and volleyball fields. There is one huge indoor complex with a badminton court, table tennis and pool table Classrooms are well-ventilated and lit up, and there are projectors in every class.
Admission
I gave JEE exam, which is conducted by NTA. The exam has two stages-JEE mains and JEE advanced. JEE mains usually conducts two attempts (except in 2021 where the number of attempts was 4). JEE mains enables the student to take admitted to top NITs, IIITs and other top-tier state colleges(eg- DTU, NSUT) of the country. There is a cutoff to qualify for MAINS. The qualified students are then allowed to attempt JEE ADVANCED exam, which has only one attempt a year and is considered to be one of the world's most difficult exams. Cracking JEE advanced exam means you can now take admitted into any IIT in the country based on your marks and rank. Eligibility- a person should have passed or appeared for class 12th exams. Also, to take admission, one should have a minimum of 65 to 75% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics individually as well as in aggregate
