Likes
- The college life here is great, considering it is an engineering college.
- Diversity in races and cultures is good. Students from over the world under same roof feels great.
- The campus is beautiful. From the sports complex to OAT, to the smooth and clean roads of DTU, everything is beautiful.
Dislikes
- The location of the Uni is one of the main things I hate.
- The gender ratio here is terrible. We have 2 girls in a class of 75 students.
- The new VC is the person I hate the most.
Course Curriculum Overview
For ECE, the course curriculum is a bit on the tougher side. We have to deal with semiconductors and stuff. I chose this course as this was the best suited for my rank. As for the faculty, the faculty: student ratio is good. The faculty is highly qualified and experienced. Passing the exams is not a big task. However, for me, I am struggling to cross the 8.5 cgpa mark.
Internships Opportunities
Internship oppurtunities are great here, if the student is working towards it. The internship season starts from the 5th semester till the end of 6th sem. Many tech giants offer internships here namely sprinkler, uber, google with stipend ranging from 50k to 2 lakhs per month. Highest being 2.5 lpm from sprinklr. Most of the internships are for the position of sde.
Placement Experience
Placements at DTU are pretty good. The average for CSE is 21lpa, for my branch it is 18lpa. Overall average package crosses the 13lpa mark. The students become eligible for placements after 5th semester. Almost all tech giants as Google, Amazon, Microsoft offer jobs and over 95% students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees here are lesser than the private colleges, but still, I would have hoped for a lesser fee, considering it is a govt college. The fees are increased by approx 9-10% every year. My fees for 4 years are 2.02, 2.15, 2.35, and 2.40 LPA respectively.
Campus Life
One of the main reasons I chose DTU over other colleges is the college life here. The annual fest, ENGIFEST, is considered North India's biggest cultural festival for a reason. Being a part of the organizing team, I have been so much proud of this fest. We had over 3,50,000 footfall over a span of 3 days, with artists such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi, and DJ Nucleya performing on the 3 promises. Regarding books and journals, you'll find almost every book you need in the library.
Admission
For admission to DTU, we have to give jee mains and secure the required percentile. For me, as a general male candidate, I had scored 98.07%ile or 19400 ranks to get a seat in the ECE branch. After the jee result declaration, we have to apply through JAC Delhi's website for the desired branch and desired college.
