What Students Say
Likes
- The huge and lush green campus of the DTU with many small animals around gives you a vibe that you are living among the nature. Be it the beautiful flowers in the spring season that cover the roads or the rains of the monsoon.
- The campus life is one of the best in country. Loads of fests and events throughout the year keep the students engaged.
- Placement records are exceptional which is one of the main reason a student want to join any college.
Dislikes
- There's absolutely nothing that I disliked about this college from the moment I stepped into the college
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course over Software Engineering because I really wanted to study Maths (I'm good at it too ). Most of the faculties are PhD holders. Many are good with their subjects and teach well while some don't (exceptions are always there). There were only 2 exams Mid Sem and end sem in the whole semester.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Amazon, uber, microsoft, sprinkler and many more big ones come for internships at the start of 3rd year for various roles. On-campus internships are really hard to get and depend on one's luck. About 20% get on-campus internships and the rest get them through off-campus.
Placement Experience
Placement records are excellent. The percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch but for tech branches, it's almost 100 per cent and for core branches, many PSUs and lots of other companies visit. The highest package would be 1.2 Cr and average around 15-16 lacs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike is minimal per year, all in all, it'll cost you around 10 lac to complete your btech (hostel excluded). There are many scholarships available for students belonging to SC/ST casts and also the ones holding BPL cards.
Campus Life
The social and campus life is one of the best in India. There are loads of events and fests in our college. The annual cultural fest is Engifest, which is also believed to be one of the biggest North India cultural fests. The tech-fest is Invictus which includes loads of competitions, hackathons, fun events and games. Sports facilities are the very best. Huge grounds and courts for each individual sport and even a huge indoor complex are there.
Admission
For admission to DTU, you have to give the JEE mains examination and clear it with a really good rank. If you're from the Delhi region than the cutoff will be much more relaxed but still really high. Outside Delhi, there's cutthroat competition. Even top NITs don't come close to DTU when it comes to the cutoff (outside Delhi). 90+ percentile would be a safe score for the Delhi region and 95+ for outside Delhi.
Other Applied Colleges
Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology - [IIITD] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
IIIT Delhi is really a great college but my decision to leave it for DTU Mathematics and computing was due to the fact that I wanted a good campus life. DTU has a huge campus with much more events and fests taking place here and there.
