Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had an intrest in microcontrollers and semiconductors like raspberry pi. Also it is the second best branch after computer science. Also for a fact, we can also opt for coding jobs within campus. For our batch we have a faculty for each subject and faculties in each workshop and practical rooms. Most of the faculty hold P.Hd. degree and some have ongoing P.Hd. after their M.Tech. The exams happend preety soon than expected as we were short on time to complete first year, all credits to covid-19. I would rate the exams above average. They were not too difficult to cract but also not too easy to score high.

Internships Opportunities

4

Being a first year student I have not dived into the internship system of my college. But acccording to my seniors,we have a good enviornmnt for ithe same. Mainy students had got more than Rs. 1 lakh paying internship from top companies.

Placement Experience

4

From the very first semester, we can apply for internships and for placement, which starts from the third year, i.e. from 5th semester. More than 1500 offers were made according to seniors last year. Also, top companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Ola, AMD, etc. visited campus placements. More than 80 percent of students get placed in most of the branches. In my branch, 89 percent got placed last year. I have the same plans as every other engineer, getting a good job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are on the bit high side. Being a government college it should a bit more affordable. The loan was easy to get for the name of the college. But the fees are increased every second year by a good amount. There are scholarships available but they are only for either the very poor or those with a caste certificate.

Campus Life

4.5

Talking about the fest, we have one of the most famous fests of delhi-ncr, it's Engifest. There is no hustle in getting sponsors. It was backboned by our society, the Cultural council. It is responsible for every fest and program held at DTU. And it does its job quite well. For books, DTU has a big library with estimated 300k books and a lot more in e-book form. We are allowed to issue a set of 6 books for the whole semester. And we can issue some books for just a week other than those 6. Of course, being late invites penalties. Our classrooms are equipped with a whiteboard, markers brought by teachers and a duster is present all the time. We also have a projector in our class. It does not work in a few rooms. For sports, DTU has given a large piece of land to sports grounds. We have all types of sports grounds except for the swimming pool. I'm not a lot into sports so I cant tell you a lot about them. We hve website resources. the tech that has everything we need for our syllabus.

Admission

My admission took place through the JAC Delhi admission process. My JEE Mains rank was accepted in this admission process. I got electrical engineering in the first round and Electronics and communication engineering in the second round. It didn't change after that. My rank was just around the cutoff of the next course, Mathematics, and computing. For ECE, the minimum rank required at my time for the general category was 27.7k in the Delhi region. I had a 22.4k rank. The admission process was fine, not required many visits. All of the information was available on their website. Also, they usually attended our call whenever we required assistance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
