Well decent government college worth to take in consideration !!

Entrance Preview

I took admission on basis of JEE main rank , I got 2 lakh rank in jee mains , although i knew i won't be able to make in any good college(decent government college) but still i took part in every college counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It is having 7 branches as: Computer science, Civil engineering, Information technology, Mechanical engineering, Electronic and communication engineering, Electrical engineering, Production engineering. Curriculum of college in pretty good. First year is same for everyone. Course including balance in every field technological studies as well as social and professional aspects. Curriculum is right now according to I.K. gujral university since it affiliated to to I.K. gujral university but soon it will be declared as university.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college provide internship. But not having knowledge about general stipend. Don't know about companies. It's not that good because never got to know about it in college from our senior.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements of college is decent, many companies comes for placement and take few handful of students from each branch. But there is bulk placement in Computer science and IT Many companies like: Accenture infosys TCS HONEYWELL HCL shapoorji pallonji group L&T THERMAX and few more usually average package is in between 3-4 lakh

College Events

4

Many event are organised by various society of college (SAE, IST,CSI ,art etc etc) Many major event like genesis, atharva ,tech fest many tech work shop like for robotics are also organised. Every year cultural fest also take in college which include drama , music and everything In short 7 out of 10

Fee Structure And Facilities

fees is bit more as it's a government college. usually per semester 41,000 is tuition fee , 11,000 as hostel fee , 5,000 as service charge , 7000 as security fee(one time or at time admission ) other then this mess charge will be taken every month which is normally 1500 to 3000 ( depends if you take anything extra like egg and milk )

Fees and Financial Aid

education loan can be easily be taken from bank college also provide notification for scholarship but it is usually for Punjab students But you can try for your respective state scholarship

Campus Life

4.5

I think extracurricular very good , they organise many events from time to time sports activity quite excellent in our college usually having all kind of indoor as well out door games gender ratio is also quite balanced most of the students are from Punjab as it is having 85% quota then in other state most of the students are from bihar and haryana and few from uttar pradesh and delhi

Hostel Facilities

4.5

college is having separate hostel for each year , i must add 1st year hostel are much better as compare to 2,3,4 year. having a club which includes indoor game and TV and newspaper. mess is having decent food as compare to other colleges which I usually hear. They will only provide vegetarian food. Also, provide eggs n milk but you will have to pay extra for that. In short mess facilities are good

Alumni/Alumna

senior are quite supporting always ready for your help. many alumni from our college are at really good position

Exam Structure

There are three internal and one external exam in each semester. There will be one internal practical and one external practical. Best of two is taken consideration out of three internal exams. Finale result contains 60% external marks and the remaining 40% is from internal

Admission

I took part in counselling which held in college auditorium on end of july under 15% quota of other state. When i reached college i saw my number in merit list which was made by college on the basis of student of other state applied and rank they got in JEE mains. Out of approx 400 student my merit number was 315. So i took part in counselling and in the end of day manage to get the last seat in Production Engineering. So in first year i was in production engg. but after 1 year on the basis of 1st year percentage i got chance of sliding or change of branch and finally i got Information Technology

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
