Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course based on my JEE Mains rank. Faculty to student ratio is good (10:1) All the teachers are PHD or pursuing phd from reputed colleges in India. Teaching methods are average, mainly with ppt slides & notes. The exam happens twice a semester mid-term & end term. Exams are of average level. What is taught in class comes in exams. Mainly you have to refer teacher's notes.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are lots of companies that offer internship & full-time opportunities to students. They range in a variety of fields such as consulting, finance, analysis, software development, and core engineering fields as well. Some companies which come are:- Google, Microsoft, Apple, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, McKinsey, etc offer hefty stipends ranging from 60k to 2l per month.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible to sit for placements from the 7th semester till the 8th semester. More than 400 companies visit DTU which includes all the big names such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc. The highest package was 2Cr international & 60l domestic. The average package is 14l. About 90% of students are placed. I plan to join a company after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are approx 2 lakhs each year for the whole 4 years. The hike is 10% each year. The total cost is 9 lakhs for BTech. There are various need-based & merit-based scholarships available to students on campus. As well as various jobs on campus. I was selected as a USIP (university student internship program) Intern which is 10k for a 2 months internship.

Campus Life

4

Our annual fest name is "Engifest" which happens in February and it is the largest cultural fest in North India. Tech fest "Invictus" happens in January. We have a very large library which has a very huge collection of books ranging from academic books to magazines, fiction, non-fiction etc. There are lots of scientific journals as well. All the classrooms are decently maintained. They are air-conditioned. Sports facilities are also good. Grounds are well maintained & the sports accessories are regularly provided. There are lots of societies & clubs run by students namely Yuvaan, Literature & Film Societ Sahitya, Writing & Debating society UAS, drone-making society DCG, a student-run consulting society 180 DC, consulting society etc

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are decent. There are options for both AC & non-AC rooms. You get all the basic facilities like a table, chair, cupboard, etc. Wifi is also provided. The meal is okayish. Doesn't taste too well but you can manage with time. The hostel registration process is offline so it takes time. If you are from outside Delhi, you will easily get. Hostel fees are 60k per year. There are lots of PGs & flats for students in Rohini Sector 16.

Admission

You need to have taken PCM in class 12th with a minimum of 75% for the general category. The exam application form is out on the NTA website which conducts JEE Mains. Application fees are? 800/-. Form comes out in the month of September/October for the exams in January & April. I think the admission process should be completely online including document verification because physical document verification is a very big waste of time.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Because I wanted a government college which has relatively less fees and better placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
