Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good. Teachers are knowledgeable and they focus on practical learning. I chose EE as I was passionate about this subject. Faculty to student ratio is 1:60. We have to give one mid-term in the mid of the semester and one end term at the end.
Internships Opportunities
The internship scenario at DTU is good. Top tech firms like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Salesforce, etc., visit the campus with lucrative stipends. They offer internships in both tech and non-tech roles. A few companies offering core internships also visit.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario at our college is at par with popular IITs/NITs. Nearly 400 companies visit our campus every year and they make around 1500 offers. The highest domestic package stands at 64 LPA while the average package is 12 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for 1st year were 1.67 L which increased to 1.9 L in 2nd, 2.06 L in 3rd, and 2.19 L in 4th. The hostel fees amount to 1L/year. There are some government-aided scholarships for female and reserved students. You can also apply for merit-based scholarships.
Campus Life
The annual fest of DTU is Engifest, which is conducted in mid of February. The tech fest Invictus is conducted in January. Books and journals are available in abundance in the library. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned. The facilities for sports and extracurricular activities are impeccable.
Hostel Facilities
I have opted for a triple sharing AC room which offers good facilities. The mess food is average and it can improve. Due to the limited availability of hostels, it is granted on basis of distance from the college. The cost for an AC room is 36k/semester while a non-AC room costs 30k/semester.
Admission
You have to score 75% in class XII in PCM. You have to appear for JEE Mains and clear it with a good rank of under 50k. To get into DTU, you have to appear for JAC Counselling. The general cut off the rank to get into EE at DTU is 17k (Outside Delhi).
