What Students Say

Likes

Placements : the placements in our college is a very attractive one with the recruiters hiring more people every year.
Sports : our college still remains the top contributor to our university team in all the sports and the training provided is very good.
Social life : social life is awesome that we can make good connections iver time, students from different states of the country reside here

Dislikes

Hostel facility : only the students with good marks are given admission in the college hostel.
Uniform : we still have an uniform while most of us dont want it.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very good and has a very good syllabus. I opted for this course mainly due to my interest in the field and factors like placements, the standard of education provided in the college etc. Faculty student ratio is normal, that is, there is no shortage of faculties. Most of the faculties are well educated and of great quality, each one of them having their own teaching methods. 2 internal examinations are held in a semester and 1 university exam in a semester. The difficulty level of the examination was average.

Placement Experience

The placements in college are quite good, with placement getting better each year. From semester 6 onwards, students get eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visit our college are ALSTOM, TCS, WIPRO, MRF, INFOSYS, SIEMENS, IBM, L&T, COGNUZANT, etc with the list getting long. The highest package offered this year was 12 LPA and the average was 4 LPA. In our senior bath, 70 out of 100 students got placed. My plan after getting the degree is to get a job through campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite normal. In this semester, we are guided to pay a total of 5500 rs as the course fee. There has been no fee hike since I joined and the cost to study increases if we opt for hostel and mess facilities. The opportunity for scholarships is vast. There are many scholarships such as ONGC, e-grantz etc. Campus jobs are on a hike this year, with the number of companies for recruiting getting increased and the packages are also getting better.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is very peaceful and good. Social life is good since connecting with new people seems simple. The annual tech fest of our college, DYUKSHA, was held in the month of May, which was a great success. The availability of books and journals in the central library is good enough and each department has its own library. The classrooms are not bad, with projectors in each class. Our campus is one of the top contributors to our university sports teams. There are a lot of social groups and clubs run by students such as the National Service Scheme(NSS), IEEE etc.

Admission

The admission process was started by writing the Kerala entrance exam, KEAM after which admission to colleges will begin. Application for KEAM will be notified on the official website of KEAM. I got admission to my college in the OBC reservation, my rank was 10053.

Experience at MBCET

Likes

The campus is well maintained and is clean
Teachers are willing to give individual attention if needed
Above average food is provided in canteen

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as college is strict
Majority of the staff members are the type to hold a grudge against you
Spoon feeding students and not allowing them to think and improvise accordingly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from semester 6 onwards. But campus placement for civil engineering is fairly low. But companies like Aarbee Structures Pvt Ltd has offered jobs for my mates

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year,project phases.
Fests,events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

A honest review on NSSCE Palakkad

For admission,you have to write KEAM examination amd secure a decdnt rank as this is one of the most demanded colleges in kerala.You have to appear in allotment process and join if you gets tge allotment.The admission procedure was so smooth and as per KEAM rules. The course Instrumentation and control was available in very few colleges in kerala and this is the only government institution provides this particular course. I had applied for top colleges in Kerala for Engineering studies. I got admitted to NSSCE. I'm so glad that I'm a student of NSSCE. Admission to NSS College of Engineering. Mainly through KEAM Entrance examination conducted by the government of Kerala: General Quota, Reservation Quota are through KEAM Entrance examination of that year. You should have good marks in PCM subjects in the 12th standard. You should perform well in the KEAM Entrance examination of that year. Try solving Objective questions as many as possible. You definitely have to work hard to get admission to premium colleges like NSSCE. Management Quota admission: Should have good marks in 12th standard. Should quality KEAM Entrance examination of that year. Should have a good academic performance history. Admission to NSSCE is highly competitive. I had studied my higher secondary course in a subject combination of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology(science). Along with the higher secondary course I went for entrance coaching in a coaching centre. I was more interested in mathematics than biology so I focussed on engineering entrance exams.
