Course Curriculum Overview

4

My jee percentile was 93.25 so as a general rank Delhi candidate, I was getting a seat in civil engineering in this college. There are 75 students per 1 professor, however multiple professor teach the same subject in the college in first year and after first year most of the batches of same branch are mixed. The professor here are very qualified and they have detailed knowledge of their courses, some professors are too strict while some are completely the opposite. The mid sems are there after 3 months followed by the end sem after 2 months however after covid the 1st semester ended within 3 months which was an exception. The exams are not easy to pass, and require timely practice for even a topper student. Only get marks if the steps are correct, a topper in one semester could get back in the next semester if he does not study from the start.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Getting an internship at DTU is very difficult. Only 25% of the total companies visiting the college campus for FTE recruit interns. In comparison to full-time placements in ‘22, internship session ’22 was nothing. Till 07/01/2022, only 65 companies visited the college campus for internships. But this 65 includes all the major MNCs like Google, Apple*, Microsoft, etc.

Placement Experience

5

In 7th semester students are eligible for placement drives and they should meet the minimum requirements of companies they want to apply for like 7-8 CGPA, followed by written test and interview round. Many big companies like apple, Facebook, Google to non tech companies over 350 companies come and total offers last year were approx 2300. With the highest package of 1.02 crore and the average package of 15.61 lakh percentage of students getting placed is about 97%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of college are really high as compared to other colleges and it rises every year by 10,000. Colleges have divided their scholarships one get from college other from the Delhi government those having ration cards will get 100% scholarship and in college this year the scholarship was given to those students having a family annual income of less than 2 lakh, district scholarship is for that annual income less than 8 lahks those get 25% of tuition fees however the amount came in the bank after 1 year or more than that. The top 10% students of in college get 10k per month. There are internships even for 1st-year students they are just government programs like lab on Wheels with very less stipend, the real internship come for 3rd-year students and sometimes for 2nd year however a minimum of 8 cgpa is required to be eligible, and an academic need to keep in mind while doing the internship there after most students get the placement.

Campus Life

4.5

Annual are conducted every year with big celebrities and stand-up comedians visiting, tech fests are also conducted as one of the biggest fests in India, many societies make drones and participate in or organize these fests. There are 10 lakh books in the library they are issued on events free of cost and on non occasion days they are to be paid to issue them, which is a nominal charge. Classrooms like pragyabhwan and SPS are fully air-conditioned, and projectors to charging points in the classroom are available. There are many sports along with their team and ground facilities like 2 basketball courts 2 tennis courts, 2 kabaddi courts 1 cricket,1 football, and indoor sports like badminton and table tennis. Many colleges like bits Goa, nit's IIT's sports teams come to compete with college sports teams. There are over 100 societies in college giving immense opportunities to participate in fest competitions with cash prizes and exposure.

Admission

To take admission in this college one need to give jee mains and meet the cut-off as per the course the candidate is willing to apply for, followed by registration in jac or joint admission college and filling of courses available in the dtu. There are 85% reserved in seats for candidates who did their class 12th from any recognized school in Delhi. The admission process is online followed by document verification done by the college once the seat is locked, the system could improve if they give further chances of upgradation once the seat is locked there is no further upgradation available to the candidate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
