Course Curriculum Overview
In the first year, various subjects are taught, like finance marketing, HR, operations, etc. In the second year, students have to choose a specialization. The faculty at IIM Jammu is well-educated and has a deep understanding of their respective fields. There are a total of six terms, in each term, two exams are conducted, mid-term and end-term.
Internships Opportunities
Various company provides internship opportunities to students of IIM Jammu. Those companies include Adani, Reliance Jio, Vedanta, ICICI, HDFC, PepsiCo, etc. And the stipend can go up to 1lakh per month.
Placement Experience
IIM Jammu provides placement opportunities for both summer internships and final placements. Students can also self-source a SIP or job offer on their own. The placement committee is responsible for conducting the placement process. This committee includes both students and faculty.
Fees and Financial Aid
My total fee is around Rs 15,50,000, excluding the mess bill. Many banks provide education loan facilities to students at low-interest rates. Best-performing students also receive scholarships. Government schemes also provide financial assistance to underprivileged students.
Campus Life
Campus life at IIM Jammu is good. Students at IIM Jammu come from diverse backgrounds, which makes the social life at IIM Jammu more interesting. There are various clubs that students can join. Events like sports competitions, debate competitions, etc. are conducted.
Hostel Facilities
IIM Jammu provides hostel rooms on sharing basis. One room can have students between 2-5, depending on the room size. There is a common bathroom on each floor. The college provides washing machines and cloth dryers on each floor of the hostel.
Admission
One has to clear the CAT exam to be eligible to get admission at IIM Jammu. CAT cutoff marks are different for each category. After removing the CAT exam, a personal interview is conducted. Application forms for the CAT exam can be found on CAT's official website. After I cleared the exam, I had to fill out the CAP form, a standard admission process for 9 IIMs.
Interview Experience
There is no group discussion round in the admission process. Only personal interview is conducted. Personal interview round questions can be about graduation, personal information, and general knowledge.
