Entrance Preview
Common Entrance Test. It has got formal counselling for the branch selection.I had to choose Ceramics as my option because my father was from Ceramics background.I had option of computers science also but I choose Ceramics.My rank was 7000 something.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course of Ceramics is one of its kind in India because we have only 3 colleges giving degree in Ceramics.The staff is well educated and knowledgeable.The course is well defined and structured and well mix of theoretical and practicals are there.Regular exams are conducted to access the knowledge of students.
Internships Opportunities
No the college does not provide internship but the campus recruitment is 100% for Ceramics branch. Many companies visited the campus for interviews like Piramal Glass, Nitco Tiles, Jindal Steel.Even Infosys conducted interviews open for all branches.
Placement Experience
The training and placement cell is very active and resourceful.In our batch 100% placement was done.We were offered 1.5 lpa in 2006.Even I had gone for campus interview and our company offered 3 lpa in 2009.Average placement is more than 90% each year.
College Events
Other than the annual days of sports and cultural programs every year techno fest of final year project was done and technical seminars were a regular affair,where we would regularly get a chance to interact with industries best brains.Alumni meets were also started after I was passed out.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There were normal payment Seats for local Karnataka students at 10,000 per semester,then payment seats for out of state students at 40,000 per semester. Then scholar ships for defense family students were there and North East students also had the scholarship facility.
Fees and Financial Aid
There were scholarship facility available for defense background students and North East students.Also those students are helped for buying equipments like calculators etc
Campus Life
The campus life was very good, every now and then there were cultural activities,sports events of cricket,table tennis etc.freshers and farewell were regularly done in a very well organized manner.Techno fest and technical seminars were regularly conducted.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were one of the best things in Gulbarga.The rooms were big,well ventilated and clean. Sweeper was cleaning the room every day.Laundry service was also available at cost. Free of cost internet service was available in each room.The mess was also well maintained and hygienic, options for north indian and south indian food was available.
Alumni/Alumna
Keramos is the name of the alumni's association which is very active and supportive.Alumni meet are organized frequently.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is very strict, we had 3 internal tests in all the subjects every month and best of two average was considered in the semester results. Then we had practical labs minimum two in each semester and all this was followed by semester exams every six months.
Admission
I had written a common entrance test which was a objective type test having questions from Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics.After qualifying the entrance test you have to undergo counselling for branch selection.The form of entrance test was available by post.
Faculty
Most of the faculty is doctorate in there subjects and have a good experience and exposure of teaching.The faculty has also got connection in the industry and they facilitate students for industrial projects and study tours.The alumni association is also very good help for the students.
