Course Curriculum Overview
I was inclined towards taking Electrical Engineering or ECE so when I got EE, I took it. Faculties when including the PhDs and full-time faculty, the ratio is good enough for 20:1. The majority of the faculty is very qualified, coming from reputed colleges so it does makes a difference in class if you listen carefully. Term exams are rather manageable in the first year but since 2nd year it depends on the branch. It's difficult for EE.
Internships Opportunities
You can get intern opportunities for 3 years. From the beginning of 3 years, the interns for your summer break of 3 yr begin. You get offered roles in Tech, non-tech, and core. It can be a bit harder to get them compared to placements. The average for 2021 was 50k for the college.
Placement Experience
Campus placements can start from the end of 3rd year. You can also get ppo after your internship. Placements are pretty good, I mean obv top branches help. For the 2021 data, we had over 300 companies, 2400 plus offers, avg was 17lac and the highest package was 1.8crore. The placement percentage was ig something above 90. I plan on getting some core electrical placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
DTU is definitely a little expensive if you take everything into consideration. Tuition fees are comparable to every other top government college and same goes with hostels but the real spending comes from outside the college due to it being in Delhi. As a student, you get more to explore in Delhi and it adds up to the expense.
Campus Life
When it comes to fests, it's among the best you can get in India. Among the largest in all of India. Engifest, our fest had a footfall of over 1.5lac. The library is incredible, I stay there for good 4hrs every day. Sports Complex is good tho I don't use it a lot. Also, you'll get a vast range of societies/clubs to join, just don't join a lot so you can focus on grades.
Admission
The eligibility for the course requires 75 percent in 12th grade and clearing the cutoffs that are based on JEE MAINS. It's a state college thus its admission process doesn't happen through JossA but through JAC Delhi. I remember the application fees were 1000 for general and OBC. Application dates come around at the same time as JossA.
