Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is still older and should get shifted to NEP like in IITs and NITs, we still study PCM, and workshop (welding foundry smithy, etc). Rank decides branches until you are an India topper, reservation category students have the huge upper edge for example if a general category student gets ECE on some rank but on the same rank, an OBC student gets IT, and an SC student gets CSE. Students to faculty ratio are approx 12:1. Most of the faculties holding PhD from IIT and a few are from reputed colleges with years of experience. A semester duration is 5 months approx. consisting of one minor at mid-semester and one major at the end of the semester.
Internships Opportunities
Instabase, Atlassian, Sprinklr, Alphonso, Salesforce, Microsoft, Adobe, Qualcomm, Toshiba, Tata Steel, Mazares, Tata Power DDL, Deloitte, Samsung, D.E.Shaw, Arcesium, Expedia ZS Associates, Sapient, EXL Services, Axtria India, Smartcube, Fractal Analytics, HT Media DataAnalytics, etc. comes for internships. The Average stipend was 45k.
Placement Experience
By the end of the 6th semester, you are eligible for placement and by the end of 4 semesters, you are eligible for internships. Approx 400 companies visited and 2459 offers were made. The highest domestic is 64 lpa and the international is 1.8cr pa. The average of all branches goes to 15 lpa. Companies visited like Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Samsung, Gen. electrical, Google BCG, CITI Bank, Bank of America, McKinsey, Honeywell, SanDisk, Goldman Sachs, etc, approx. 90 % of students placed till now and 43% hike in placement than last year. I will pursue MBA after BTech.
Fees and Financial Aid
For batch 2022 total course fees are approx 9.5 lakhs (not including hostel and mess charges) 10% hike yearly. The tuition fee is approx 5.6 laks and the rest 3.9 goes to JAC Delhi (for 4 yrs) DTU provides scholarships for economically backward students according to income (for eg. If your family income is less than 2.5 lpa you will get 50% off on tuition fees which are approx. 70k per year). SC ST(full fee reimbursement) OBC(tuition fee) get a scholarship from Delhi govt e- district website and General category holding ration card get 100 % on tuition fee 50 % having income less than 2.5 lpa on tuition fee only under MCM scholarship of Delhi govt (less frequent and tougher to get ). Internship opportunities are very good on campus if you are skilled do not get worried. Last year 2 lakhs stipped given by Accenture to a student expert and coding and stock market.
Campus Life
Hostlers /PG students do have college life only. DTU's annual tech fest (Invictus) is pretty good gaming, new technology cars, coding, blockchains, etc, concerts, and students from other colleges do participate. The annual cultural fest (Engifest) held in February or March is too good, campus is full of different shows like car &bike show, drag racing, DJ night, dancing, rock shows, social problem dramas and plays, live concerts by famous artists of India, etc., the huge crowd from across Delhi participates. DTU has subscriptions to Daily newspapers and journals, a very beautiful large and greenish campus comprising well-designed buildings and classrooms, big sports complex (TT courts, badminton courts, cricket ground, football ground, lawn tennis courts, volleyball courts, kabaddi area, fitness area, and a gym), technical societies like IEEE CSI, ASME, etc. and Drama Pratibimb, Photography Parchayi, Bhangra, Vibe(dance) Nrityangana and Social service NSS Enactus, Rotaract, Defianz(car related)
Admission
Most of the students came on the first day for document verification so the process went till 11 pm and started from 2 pm at noon. JEE mains are the entrance exam. 60 %minimum aggregate of physics, chemistry, and maths required as eligibility. Delhi region students (passed 12th from Delhi ) are eligible for the Delhi quota which is 85% of total seats. The application process start after JEE advanced on Jac Delhi's official website. 4-year BTech course fees will be approx 9.5 lakhs (not including hostel and mess). Delhi region students are not eligible for hostels. Despite having 10k students on campus there are only approx 2k students residing in hostels, so most students are day scholars traveling 3-4 hours daily to attend classes. The website should be improved and the documents verification process should be done online or the duration should be longer for each category of students, because 2450 students intake per year, difficult for administrative to look after students easily.
