- Hostel facilities are equivalent to top tier IITS with spacious single rooms and recreational areas
- Mess Food is good with lot of variety with strict emphasis on cleanliness
- Placement is very good even if you are unplaced you can get a 3-4 lpa job
Dislikes
- Lab Has limited equipment and are not maintained properly
- Hostels and classes are 1km walkaway and there are no walking pavements or transport
Course Curriculum Overview
I already Live in Jamshedpur so it's easy for me to commute every day from my home if i don't want to stay at my hostel in our department, we have 14 professors and 56 students All faculty members have a PHD from a reputable IIT or NIT Exams are strictly conducted according to schedules and questions are related to content taught in classes
Internships Opportunities
Tata Steel Inspire stipend 40000/- over 2 months TSPL internship stipend of 40000/- for 2 months Tata Steel Vocational training, No stipend Tata Steel Women of Metal 40000/- for 2 months Projects are based on a branch of the candidate and his interest, mostly aimed towards improving efficiency and performance of existing equipment and practices
Placement Experience
Students get internship opportunities from 3rd year and placement from 4th year 200+ companies visit every year like TCS, TATA STEEL, TSPL, WIPRO with around 100 students receiving multiple offers The highest package this year is 83lpa and the average package is around 10lpa around 98% of students got placed this year I plan on pursuing MBA after completing Btech
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are generally raised every 4-5 yrs according to state policies and the Cost of Living is Low due to cheap transport and food Students can avail of E-Kalyan, the National scholarship scheme and Tata Millenium Scholarship. College Provides upto 100% fees remission for financially weak students but no jobs are available for Btech Students on campus Mtech and PHD students can get up to 40000/- per month
Campus Life
Annually Culfest(cultural fest) is organised in February- march, Ojass(technical fest) is organised at the start of every year, URJA(sports fest) at the end of every year All course books and others are available in Library All classrooms have AC and new benches with a projector A lot of sports Clubs are available for students to join based on performance Every club has a website run by students
Hostel Facilities
Single room Available from the second year in mega hostels, the room has a fan, tubelight bed and a cupboard with 2 plug points and a LAN connection Mess food is good, you get 4 meals with different food every day and separate stations for veg and non-veg The hostel is automatically allotted upon admission and one can opt out of the hostel by submitting a form A lot of PG and rooms are available outside the campus at affordable rates
Admission
Admission is possible only if one qualifies JEE MAINS Candidate should be currently in class 12th or has already completed class 12 with at least 80% marks for GEN and 60% for ST/SC Candidate has to apply online through Jee Main website, No offline form is available SC/ST candidates receive 50% reservation on the Available no of seats in a college The website for Jee Mains has a lot of downtime due to large traffic and can be improved
