NIT Srinagar, BE/B.Tech
Reviewed on Nov 3, 2017

Remarks

The college administration is not supportive also the location is not at all suitable for a government run engineering institute. there are a lot of strikes in Srinagar so the college remains closed for that time.

Entrance Preview

JEE(main). engineering is my passion usually I come to college by flight. no interview process is there. we get the admission on the basics of score in a 360 marks objective exam

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It has a lot of scope. I completely believe in practical learning. The students of the institute take interest in research and college provide funds for the R&D works of students

Internships Opportunities

Some times the department heads provide intern offers but mostly students themselves have to approach the companies for the internship. in my case it was unpaid

Placement Experience

1.5

The T&P cell of the college is not so supportive and there is no cut down percentage for the placements to occur but still companies filter at about 70% marks

College Events

0.5

usually tech fest and other innovation events occur recently Idea challenge took place and in 2018 tech fest will occur in the month of march. the organisation is smooth and frankly speaking the college authorities are not so supportive.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is quite ok. 39750 for General cat. and 15000 mess fee. for SC/st it is 25000 for a half yearly and mess fee of 15000 the mess fee varies at a rate of about 100 rs per day

Fees and Financial Aid

No the college do not provide any scholarship on its own. But sometimes fee concession is there for financially not so strong students. Even for loan the college has nothing to do.

Campus Life

1

The clubs like dance, music, art runs but occasionally and there is no procedure to learn in such clubs. although the sports facilities are up to the mark. Yes the college provides ample opportunities to me and others too

Hostel Facilities

4

I am a hostler. there is sharing till 3rd year. no PG's. Hostels are free and mess fee is about 15000 per semister

Alumni/Alumna

I do not think the alumni Network is so strong. the college provides a shaky platform for the students-alumni meet but still students find ways to meet their alumni.

Exam Structure

no it is quite fair. You can in fact be relaxed during your exams

Faculty

1.5

Most of them are PhD scholars. Not so interactive. There is a lot of biased professors in the college local students get marks easily which hamper the quality of teaching.

Students become eligible for campus placements in 8th semester. Companies like L&T construction, Ambuja cement, tata , wipro, jio , Berger, infosys, IBM and many more visit the college. Highest package is around 17 LPA and average package is around 5 LPA . Almost 30 percent students get placement. My plan is to get off campus placement.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college is Average and the students are eligible in 7 semester for placement. If the student has any backlog in any of the semester they can't sit in the college placement and also it has minimum criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The percentage of students getting placement is very low sadly

The positive of this college is that the environment is academic friendly and there is a level of strictness maintained by the college authorities. Lack of modern infrastructure and absence of various general and academic facilities hampers the ideal college life of balancing the knowledge and enjoying the college time.
