Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am very curious in the subjects of computers and I am interested in programming so my preferences were CSE and IT, that is the primary reason why I chose this course. Now coming to the faculty, the faculty: student ratio is good enough and the qualifications of most of the faculty are high too. For example, most of the teachers of physics in our college have Ph.D. Removing the lab assistants, lab assistants don't teach us the subject so that's not a problem, they only teach us the experiment but it's not bad at all. Coming to other subjects like BEE and maths, all the teachers are highly qualified where one is an alumnus from NIT Warangal and the other one has a Ph.D. too. HODs are strict but their teaching is fantastic and coming to the main course of IT, I haven't experienced their teaching in first hand but I've heard that all the teachers are qualified and their teaching is not bad either. Coming to the exams, all the exams are conducted seriously with strict invigilation. No misconduct happens.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many companies that provide internships but they are not so famous, and the stipend they provide is not so much. It's around 5-10k. One of the examples of the opportunities they provide is working on the website in front and developing the code in the backend.

Placement Experience

3.5

You can get an internship if you are studying in the 5th or 6th semester and above, there are good companies who come to our college like TCS, Genpact, Mahindra, etc. You can get a job easily for 4-5 lpa, but for high packages, the rounds are said to be tough. The highest package is 25lpa this year and there are some students who got around 15 lpa. Though they are very few in number, around 85-90% are placed. I am planning to pursue a master's in the US but if I get an offer above 20, I will do the job for 2 years and then go for a master's.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is 103000 per annum for the IT course and the exam fees are paid separately as it is affiliated with Osmania university, the regular fee for the semester examination is 2530 and the bus fee if you want to know is around 40k per year, I don't use college bus so I don't know the exact figure. The scholarship is given to people who have EWS and other lower castes but not to general-category students. Job opportunities in my college are not so good but not so bad either. The average salary package is almost 5lpa and around 90% of the students get offers but it's their choice to accept it or not. Some Campus placements are purely based on technical knowledge and some of them even see your CGPA. The highest package for the year 2022 was 25lpa.

Campus Life

2.5

Talking about the infrastructure of the campus, it's average and the size is completely disappointment. The campus is only around 4 acres large, for the ones who dream of large campuses of around 30 acres like me, will be hugely disappointed. The maintenance of the college is average, but there is a lot of greenery inside the campus. There is only one big fest that happens and it is called "URVI", other colleges may have small fests every month or so. We have small fests rarely but URVI is actually the best and the biggest one. Technical fests are conducted before URVI so you can consider it as a part of it, tech fests are less. The library and canteen are rated only average too, the books in the library are only related to the subject and nothing else. The canteen doesn't provide various options, classrooms are average too. Sports facilities are ok, TT is bad but basketball, carroms, and badminton are good. There are few social clubs and NGOs like "with you", the rest are common like music, dance, etc

Admission

I got a seat in this college through TS EAMCET. I secured a rank of 15639 and being a general-category student, this rank wasn't considered that great. I tried the top 5-10 colleges but couldn't secure a seat in them, but it was good enough to secure a seat in this college as this college is among the top 15. This college has one more branch called MVSR and it's among the top 10 colleges( not exactly a branch but the ownership is the same, so we consider it to be the main branch). If you want a CSE or IT seat in my college, first if you get a rank around 15k that is 13-16k, and apply to this college in your first counseling round, you have a high chance to get a seat in CSE and IT. I wasn't given a seat in CSE because I applied to this college in the last round which is in 3rd round, so I suggest everyone apply in the first round itself. The cutoffs I mentioned applied to 2022 but as of 2023 there is a slight change, now to get a CSE or an IT branch, it's around 12-15k.

Other Applied Colleges

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

It's because even though I got a good rank, I wasn't given a seat. They prioritised management quota, so I didn't opt for this college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
