In BITS, we get to work with people from different states all over India and the exposure is good. You learn to take responsibility for yourself, build your own personality, develops a sense of understanding of whatever your interest lies in and work towards it tenaciously. In BITS, we not only focus only academics but extracurricular activities also have great importance.

BITSAT is the only way to enter any BITS campus. Like so many other students in India, it was a dream of mine to get into a national college like this and it has been every penny worth the effort I have put in. I have taken up Civil engineering as I had an interest in field work and working in the labs. There wasn't any interview process that followed. BITS has a system where you get in on the basis of your merit and nothing else.

The course structure is very judicially designed for better learning outcomes. Teachers often use power points to deliver lectures and board and marker to explain the concepts. The student to faculty ratio is decent enough. We often have industry visits to have a better understanding of the concepts. There were a lot of elective opportunities on campus.

The placements for the bachelor's degree in civil are not highly paid. But still, you can expect about 4-5 LPA for sure. More than 50% students get placed. For ME, the percentage is even higher. L & T, Ashoka builders, Infrabeam came for the placements.

There are four fests conducted throughout the year- ATMOS which is the technical fest, ARENA which is the sports fest, PEARL which is the cultural fest and VERBA MAXIMUS which is the literary fest. There are various clubs and departments to work for and quench your thirst for co-curricular activities.

The Fee is a little too much. I would not say it was affordable. The fee-hike from when I have joined the campus was from 1,30,000 to 1,85,000 per semester. Money can become a huge problem If you are studying here because of the unstoppable fee hike and the management doesn't seem to be bothered about the students' take on this.

The old hostel rooms are okay not so flashy and the new hostels that were built this year are like hotels, believe it. A lot of structures are under construction, especially a swimming pool. We have an auditorium with a capacity of more than 1000 and better than most of the cinema halls in India.

There is no compulsion in attending the college. The course is quite elaborate. The faculty are very friendly and encouraging in every way. Maths is one of the fields mostly focused on in the college. The departments of each branch are well-constructed with all kinds of equipment. Faculty members are quite helpful and supportive with all kind of knowledge required for the course but the course is quite tiresome. Then also, the grading system is quite good.
