Remarks

Overall experience with college management is average. Many things depend on what scale we are measuring them. For somethings management is very helpful and sometimes they don't even pay attention to the matter but it is same everywhere.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEEAND AIEEE I opted for this college because I wanted to pursue my graduation in Mechanical Engineering and during that time mechanical was trending in the college and it has one of the best faculty as compared to other trades present in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have done my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering so would be debriefing about it. The course is well structured. One can learn many topics in detailed that can come handy in various job profiles like automobile sector, power plants and many more. The course will definitely help to learn the basics and one can easily see the topics taught in various core jobs.

Internships Opportunities

There is no stipened provided by the college for undergraduate students. For M.tech students stipened are provided by government if you have taken admission through GATE scores.Regarding internships, one has to join internship by its own during various years of the graduation.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are very average.Main recruiters are TCS,infosys and Accenture. Its difficult to get a core job in Mechanical and Civil as there is almost no company will come to recruit. So if one wants to go in IT sector then there will be lots of options available to choose from.

College Events

3.5

There are many events celebrated in the college. Atharva-Technical fest Genesis-college fest Sports meet There are many socities present in the college which help in organising these events.During technical fest there are various events in which one has to make models according to his trade or something related to trade and can earn prize depending group task or individuals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Again this depends on your financial background.Fees is 50-60k for odd semester and 40-50k for even semesters. This includes hostel charge and deduce 10k if you are residing outside college campus.Mess charges are separate so its all depends how one can manage his expenditure.

Fees and Financial Aid

I really dont have any idea about it but one can avail scholarships from government if you are from EWS or any other reservation category. For this one must always consult college administration.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is awesome.Infrastructure is good one of the best in Punjab. The labs are well structured and are provided with each and every facility one would required. For sports there are all the sports facility present and there are various other things that one will come to know once he join the college

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are decent. There are separate hostels for first, second and third/ fourth years boys and one hostel for girls. Mess food is average and one can order separate egg dishes as per his needs. There is a fixed menu and sometimes there is a slight change in it. There is also a mess community for each year so if you are not satisfied with quality or management of mess staff you can join that committe and can bring the change you want to see.

Alumni/Alumna

I think seniors do help. It all depends if you know them before joining college or you are in any society or you come to know them by any means they won't be approaching you as there is no ragging nothing and no welcome party for mechanical trade so its difficult to interact.

Exam Structure

The classes and exams are too hectic to handle along with the assignments during weekdays and weekends are off. There are 3 internals test of each subject and one final written test.Same goes for the lab.We have one class of 2-3hours depending on the lab and there is only 1 class in a week for a particular lab

Admission

I used my AIEEE rank and filled the counselling fees of PTU around 2k-3k and in this fees they also provide all the colleges that comes under PTU. One has to take all his documents to the college for the verification and the college has 2-3 counselling rounds so one can apply in any round depending upon the seats available.

Faculty

3

The faculty are highly qualified. All of them have done their postgraduations. They have deep knowledge of the subjects they taught. The lab staff is highly skilled and one wont find better than them but one thing is same everywhere, one has to learn things by own.Teachers dont pay attention to each and every student so if you are not able to study by your you can face too many problems during your graduations.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
