What Students Say

Likes

This sports experience I got in the college I participated in ezone competition.
The college day of our college is very interesting to watch the programs during College day
I also like our department, our faculty members they really cares and really help us

Dislikes

Sometimes the managers our strict and they won't allow as to do some programs in our college
I really hate hostel that doesn't provide the basic freedom for a human being

Course Curriculum Overview

I was a biology student at higher secondary. But I chose computer science in engineering so it was a little difficult for me to understand that syllabus. Faculty members in our college are very friendly and they are ready to help us with the curriculum. The semester exams will be conducted after 3 months of a semester so the exams will be tightly scheduled and is difficult to manage the exam times. The lab exams and theory exams are tightly scheduled.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Internships Opportunities

On the last vacation our college provided it was a one-month internship. My friends attended it and it told me it was very helpful and useful to increase my knowledge. The internship was on stack development.

Placement Experience

Our college has many placements. many of the students in our college got placements but it is difficult to get a job letter from the company offering the placement. I am planning to find a job after the course or to take PG. And I am also looking for a 3-month or 6-month course after the Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is nearly 90000 years but I scored more than 95 in my place to the exam so I got a 20000 scholarship amount per year which will be reduced from my college fees. no, the scholarship is available for my category. Campus placements are given in our college but some students who got the campus placements are not called for the job. It is difficult to get the appointment letter even though you got the campus placement.

Campus Life

3.5

Our College fest includes arts fest, college day, and tech fest named Tharang. This year tharang was conducted in the odd semester. Our college also conducts a sports day. Also includes a big library which contains almost all the books to refer to for our semester. Our college contains the NSS club, IEDC, CSI, and others. The college also includes basketball, handball, cricket, football, and many other teams. Sometimes it is difficult to convince the management of the college to conduct a fest.

Admission

You have to attend the Kerala entrance exam. After the result is published if you are eligible apply for the allotment. You can add college with preference. College can be chosen on the basis of the last rank details and the rank you got. I belong to the general category so I didn't get any reservations. After the first allotment, you have to pay 10k as a fee to the university. Then only they consider you for the second allotment. After the second allotment, you have to take the admission in the college you got. There is one more allotment.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.

Placement Experience:

Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

CSE student at JEC

I have only applied to this college. One of my friend who was studying in this college suggested me this college. Because of my KEAM mark, I didn't get other government colleges for CSE. Then I see a better option for CSE was Jyothi. Heard that lot of placements there for CSE at Jyothi. Thats why I applied here. The admission process was quite simple for me. I just contacted the number given in Jyothi official website and knows the details. The only criteria is to pass the KEAM exam. Then based on ranking in KEAM and Plus 2 marks, I got admission....Read More

JECC is not for the weak.

As my college doesn't promote any festivals or celebrations its top most priority is to provide quality education to their students. I got many reviews from my school teachers and seniors about this college and decided to join. The admission process is very simple. No group discussion or personal interview is conducted for the selection. Just direct admission if you qualify certain conditions like 12 th grade and KEAM or JEE entrance exam marks. Just needed to qualify....Read More

Good Campus and enjoyed the time in there.

We had a common exam for the admissions. And the rank in the exam determines which college we get to study. I was trying to get into the government college. But didn't had enough rank to get the set. This i got into Jyothi engineering college Thrissur according to my rank. Couldn't apply to other colleges because the system works like that. If we get any college we should join there. To get admission should pass in the lateral entrance exam. And should have good rank in them to get admission....Read More

Actually when I was writing my boards I paid 10000 and they asked me to block myself a seat. They kept two conditions two score above 85 percentage in 12th and keam should be qualified.i happened to get both so after that I went back to college they gave me a check list of documents to bring for registration. I bought those they registered me in. And after that we registered for the uniform and then the hostel and then we talked with the teachers in my department that was pretty much about my admission my admission went really smooth.it was really smooth and easy i didn't go through any trouble or delay....Read More
