Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

I choose this course as i wanted to pursue a career in genetic engineering. Faculty student ratio is not at all appropriate , very less in my department ie., School of Bioengineering which handles this Btech BT course, in numerous semesters same faculty were teaching many subjects without expertise any of those. Most of faculty are PhD qualified but teaching methods is very low, approx. all of them just read the ppts only no books and even preferred one, none is used to teach. Reading texts and this kind of pedagogy is not at all emphathised here. Term exams are conducted twice per sem within a duration of 1 to one and half months , passing here is very very easy as all exams are held online here with a wide scope of cheating.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Internships are available but no stipend and payment is given. This university focuses too much on research but not on learning at all. They even don't have any auditorium to manage all programs and events , campus is too small.

Placement Experience

1.5

In final year of their course they become eligible for placement. Most of the companies visit for MBA and CSE program and other courses get very less placements, it's very rare that other courses get placed. Highest package is approximately 10 to 15 lakhs and average is 5 to 6 lakh. Only mba and cse students get hundred percent placement and other courses percentage is very low. I am planning to go for higher studies after this degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike policy is super high from past 3 years they are increasing the fees very drastically. For batch of 2020 fees was 69000 and in my batch that is 2021 they increased to 86000 , in next batch 2022 increased to 110000 and currently its around 120000. No scholarship or any financial assistance i got on that in hostel they were putting extra transport charges without even informing students at end of semester.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fest is super worthless , no fun and enjoyment at all as they don't make enough space to accommodate its own students in the event area, standing and sitting to watch fest is a hell of it we don't even get to enter in the main fest premises , all people keep climbing upper parts of hilly campus to have glimpse of it. Proper accomodation to see and enjoy fest is complete zero. There are many club and no websites run by students in University. And numerous extra curricular and sports activities happen in campus like many things are there. Library has a good availability of books and journals, all the processes work very smoothly online without any problem, staffs are very nice. In classrooms all amenities are available.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Hostels are too expensive and the meal quality, food and menu are pathetic, really worst according to the amount they charge for hostels. Admission process is not good , they hide details from students for their own benefit. Not all affordable, they charge 57000 for 2 seater, 65 for 3 seater per sem again if you take 2 seat room with washroom its almost around 1 lakh per sem. And girls have none of any facility like above boys ie., attached washrooms still their price is even more than them. In campus locality very less pg and rooms are available as its very outskirts of city so in walking distance very less accommodations are there.

Admission

Any PCM/ PCB candidate in 10+2 with aggregate 50% marks is eligible for the course. Application form and other details are available in the university official website. All applicable reservation benifits are available. Admission process is good but i want the admin department to be truthful and honest regarding fee structure , which they weren't during my admission.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.
