HPU Shimla Admission Dates 2026

HPU Shimla admissions for the 2026-27 academic session are underway. The MBA programme is admitted through HPU MAT (Management Aptitude Test), a university-conducted computer-based examination. B.Tech admissions at UIIT are based on HPCET (Himachal Pradesh Combined Entrance Test) or JEE Main merit. Most UG programmes admit on Class 12 merit or CUET UG scores.

B.Tech at UIIT (University Institute of Information Technology)

B.Tech admission at UIIT requires 10+2 with PCM and a minimum of 45% aggregate. The primary route is the Himachal Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (HPCET) or JEE Main. Merit-based admission is also available for HP domicile candidates.

MBA at HPUBS (HPU Business School)

MBA admission at HPUBS is based on HPU MAT - a university-conducted computer-based test of 200 questions conducted once annually. The eligibility is a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates appear for HPU MAT, and shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion and personal interview before final merit list preparation. HPUBS offers 840 MBA seats across 7 specialisations.

BA, B.Sc, B.Com and Other UG Programmes

Most UG arts and science programmes admit on the basis of Class 12 merit or CUET UG scores. The admission portal at nadmissions.hpushimla.in manages all UG applications. Candidates from Himachal Pradesh are eligible for state-domicile quota seats at subsidised fees. Non-HP candidates may apply under the general category.

Law Programmes

The 5-year BA LLB requires 10+2 with 45% aggregate. The 3-year LLB requires a graduation degree with 45% marks. Admission is through CLAT, CUET UG, or merit. LLM programmes require a law degree with 55% marks.
