Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose my course because I have a keen interest in mechanical and machines and I want to grow in this field. Moreover my interest in Management also made me choose this course as we have management also in our course. Which will help me in growing my skills and persuing management later in my life. Faculty to student ratio is decent here I would say it is 1:25 approximately and faculties are really skilled and are very curative towards the growth of the student/ Teachers are mostly highly qualified which includes having a bachelor's, master's and PhD degree and are very skilled and empower students with the aim of quizzes and frequent tests to asses the performance. Exam were conducted as per the timing and very moderately tough to analyse student performance. A student with decent level of preparations can easily ace the exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are different companies like Sprinklr, Apple , Microsoft, Atlassian , Paytm offering the roles of various domains. If someone wants to go into tech , roles offered are SDE and if someone wants to go into non tech , roles offered are Analyst , Consultant etc. Many govt companies like BHEL , Indian railways also give internships to core companies

Placement Experience

3.5

Students from 5th semester onwards are required to do summer training which is also called internship. Internship process is filtered on the basis of the marks scored by a student followed by internal shortlisting. There are many indian and foreign companies that visitied our college in FY 2022-23 like Google, Amazon , Apple , Microsoft, Atlassian, Sprinklr, Paytm , Oyo , Flipkart etc All the companies have made decent offers along with the CTC offered. The highest package was of 1.8cr internationally and 1.12cr domestically. Made by Facebook London and a HFT Startup. Mostly students get placed decently and some chose to persue higher education after their batchelors. My plan is to persue higher education after gaining some experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

DTU being a government college is not that expensive as compared to other engineering colleges that provides Batchelors in technology. The cost to study is fairly decent with 10 lacs rupess the cost of overall btech. If you are opting for hostel the costs increases to 12-13 lac depending on the type of hostel you accomodate. There is a 10% fees hike every year in the college , despite of the fee hike the college is fairly decent and affordable. There are serveral scholarships awarded to students having financial trouble in paying the college fees. This includes the vice chancellor scholarship and financial aid scholarship where a student with 8 cgpa and above and having a less financially stable background and his fees is compensated upto 100% in several cases. DTU being a reputed college, a lot of companies visit the college and provide really great placements for the students to excel and get paid according to it

Campus Life

4.5

The annual cultural fest in our college is called Engifest which is usually held in the month of february. It is filled with many events and interesting activities along with big celebrities, the tech-fest which is called techverse is organised by the tech society IEEE of our college . Usually happens in the month of early january of late december. There are a lot of books and amnetieis in our college library. The college library is quite big and sprawling which includes number of books on various genres. Student are required to use their ID card to get permission for issuing of books. There is a big sports complex included in our college. It has list of all the activities and sports like a dediated gym , running track, basketball court , football ground , cricket ground, volleyball court, tennis court , indoor badminton , snooker court etc. There are lot of social grps like STEP DTU which aims in bringing social and peace among students. Cultural council that organises fest

Hostel Facilities

4

There are different hostels in our college. Dedicated hostels for girls and dedicated hostels for boys. There are 8 boys hostels , 2 hostels are for 1st year students and rest onwards for seniors. There are 4 girls hostels. The facilities are different as per the room and expense you take and pay. The basic facilities include bed , table , chair , curtain rod , electrcitiy, RO water supply , washrooms , and storage spaces and cabinets. The meals are pretty good and feel like home for hostel. Meals are hygenic , sometimes a student may get bored of eating meals frequently but it changes afterwards. The registration process is simple , the ones who have taken admission in DTU from outside delhi are alloted hostel , they have to register to hostel website , upload required documents and they are alloted hostels and are required to pay the fees for the same. My college being near village and industrial area. The locality is not that safe and proof. So staying in the campus is quite safe.

Admission

The facilities for B.Tech Program (Batchelors in Technology) from Delhi Technological University or DTU may vary depending upon the particular branch or specialization. However there are certain requirements. Educational Qualification : Candidates should have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board like CBSE or ICSE or any other state or central board. Subjects: Physics , Maths and Chemistry proficiency should be there while giving 12th exam. Minimum Marks : To get into NIT's or IIT's you need to have 75% marks in your 10+2 exam to meet the qualification requirments and to get into DTU (delhi technological university) you need to score 60% in your final exams. The counselling is conducted by JAC Delhi (Join Allocation counselling) for the selection in DTU. The actual percentage may vary for different category like SC/ST/OBC. Entrance Exam : Students are required to give JEE Mains and qualifying students are called for counselling

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
