DTU PROS AND CONS

I have chosen the course not because I like mechanical engineering but of the ample of opportunities DTU provide. DTU faculties are well qualified but most of the faculties do not teach well. Ultimately, you have to prepare for exams by your own with YouTube or notes provided by seniors. There two exams in a sem, one is midsem and a endsem. Most of the exams are not difficult to pass but electrical exams are tough.

Internships are generally for CS, IT students. Companies like microsoft, Amazon, adobe etc come for internships. But the core companies donot come for internships. And usually placements are good here but internships you have to grab of your own.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki,etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.

The fees is increasing every year. The 1st year fees is ?229000. Although it is similar to IITs and Nits. DTU provides many scholarship to econically backward students. And there many scholarship provided by state.

Campus life in DTU is very nice. There are many societies from every field such as tech, finance, management, stocks, music, drama, dance, business, event management etc. The Engifest of DTU (conducts in Feb) is popular throughout the country. Sports facilities are good. You can play any sport.

As I am in 1st year, I was provided Type 2 hostel. The hostel is horrible. A small room accommodate with two students. Rooms are old with less maintenance. But other hostels like APJ, aryabhat, cv raman are good. Mess food is decent enough. Hostel charge you around 84000 for a year. I will recommend to join PG nearby rather than Type 2 hostel.

Eligibility:12th pass with 60% with Physics. Chemistry, Maths, and English. The admission is on the basis of JEE Mains Rank. With suitable JEE mains rank, you have fill a JAC Delhi application form. Reservation is there on the basis of Category and State of eligibility. The Delhi students (the student who have completed his/her 12th from any school of Delhi) gets 85% reservation and other state student get 15% seats only. Better if it would be 50-50 as DTU is very recognized college in India as well as as in foreign.
