Dislikes
- Location of the college is so bad it should have been in main delhi, there is no place to hang out near the college.
- Gender ratio is so bad, like really bad. there are only 3 girls in batch of 72 lol
- Some of the faculty teachers specially the guest faculty are not so good at teaching.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose computer science because i have always been in love with computer stuffs plus the main thing the placements of the it sector of this college is on par with all the lower iits as well. Faculty members of this college are quite decent i would say as expected from all the colleges. But yeah there are enough faculty members for every class of around 60-70 students. For freshers they usually have phd scholars as faculty members and they tend to understand the students quite well exams are like 2 months on the back of each other(mid sem and end sem). it was not too hard to pass though.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies start arriving in months of august like adobe, samsung, expedia, microsoft, DE shaw etc they offer decent stipend as well. the process is same as placement like coding round and then the interview round.
Placement Experience
From their 3rd year studets generally start with their internship and from 4th year they are ready for college placements. All the top companes that visits iit delhi tends to visit dtu as well like ass the FAANG companies and they provide quite a good no. of placements. The highest domestic package of this year is rumored to be around 85 lakhs by apple. and last year the highest international package was around 1.83cr around 95-96 percent of studets get placed. my plan is to have a decent package and work my way through.
Fees and Financial Aid
total fees for firs year was around 2,34000 and keeps on increasing by 10000 per year making it total of 10,00,000 approximately. There are a lot of scholarships to avail though, like the e-district scholarship, Dell scholarship and many others. On the other hand you can take loan from the banks in the college but the process is quite lenthy and a lot of work is needed. I am still a fresher so havent got any jobs.
Campus Life
DTU is well known for its second biggest college fest of north india and that is ENGIFEST. This fest is enjoyed by a lot of other college students as well and many other small fests keep on happenign in the college on monthly nbasis so there is plenty to enjoy if you are not a day scholar that is. Library is quite big and a lot of books are tehre from fanctasy and self help to course books as well. classroom is quite good air conditioned and everything. Sports facilites are good but again if u are not a day scholar. There are a lot of clubs to joun and improve but you have to give effort ofcourse.
Admission
Eligibility you need to pass class 12th with aggregate percentage of 65. You should have given jee mains enterance examination and should check the cutoff of the last years according to your reservations and everything which is provided on their site. You have to fill the jac delhi application form online and wait for the admission rounds to begin. There are a lot of reservations in this college, like i availed the army quota which had a little to no effect though. Admission process was quite smooth so no, i dont want to change anything.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Computer Science)
because dtu had better placements and big campus on the other hand computer science from du is not worth it.
