Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Electrical Engineering due to my genuine interest in circuit solving. The faculties here are very Experienced and are also there to support us. Most of the faculties are PHD holders and their classes are interactive. Faculty to Student ratio is 1:12 in Electrical Branch. The term exams are held every 3 months and one who is consistent in efforts ends up scoring decent.

Internships Opportunities

4

Microsoft, Atlassian, Google, Texas Instrument, Amazon, Uber, Zomato, etc offer internship opportunities in DTU. The Internship season begins in 5th Semester and interns are hired till 6th semester. They have to work in the summer vacation between 6th and 7th semester. Roles that of software development project, electrical systems, frontend development, backend development, devop, full stack development, etc. Highest stipend is of 1 lakh per month. Around 400 students get internship from 2500 students.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 7th semester companies start visiting the college and the placement drive runs till almost the end of 8th semester. This year 325 companies visited DTU and the no of offers were 2050. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Amazon, Flipkart, Atlassian, JP Morgan, accenture, Deloitte, Adobe, etc came for providing job opportunities. The highest package was offered by Atlassian of INR 82.05 LPA. Average CTC was 16.71 LPA. 899 students got offers between 10 to 20 LPA. Whereas number of offers with CTC greater than 20 LPA was 521. 2172 Students applied but 1499 students got the job. Which means that 69% of students were placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

My first year fees was 2 lakh 19 Thousand and every next year it is increased by 5%. But students facing financial constraints can opt for Student loan. For that SBI has opened office inside the campus from where students can take loan at an interest of nearly 9%. Whereas E District Scholarship is also available for all Category students. For OBC/SC/ST students there is Post Matric Scholarship as well and from time to time various scholarships are being offered.

Campus Life

4.5

Our biggest Fest is Engifest which happens in February. It is one of the biggest Annual fest all over the country. Various Famous artist perform in it. Last year we hosted Sunidhi Chauhan, Nucleya and many more. Every 3 month different fest do happen. Library is Centrally Air Conditioned. It is open from 9:30 am to 9:30pm on all days. Books are issued on University Card. We have a huge sports complex which has many Sports equipments. We also have an open gym there. For academic excellence students can use Fresources website which has all past year papers, Notes, Books in pdf formats, etc.

Admission

For qualifying this exam, you need to give JEE Mains Exam and score good percentile maybe 98.5 or above. You can attempt Jee Mains for 3 consecutive years at max. The application fees was 1000 rupees at my time and you need to apply on Jeemain.ta.nic.in website. Once you secure a good rank you need to participate in JAC Delhi counselling to secure a seat in this college. Application dates are released on the mentioned websites.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
