DTU - an honest review

I chose this course to facilitate my passion for engineering. DTU has a good faculty to student ratio almost 1:25. All of the faculties are having top qualifications from distinguished institutions across the globe. There are two major examinations during one semester, a semester lasts for 6 months, mid term and end term examinations which are on an easier level of difficulty almost everyone passes.

More than 200 companies visit college premises on campus and more than 400 offers are placed with average stipend being 60k. All major tech giants visit the campus with internship offers and ability to convert internships to full time opportunities via pre placement offers.

Students become eligible for on campus internships during their 3rd year or 5th semester and for full time opportunities during the 4th year. Greater than 200 companies visit the campus and have given out greater than 800 offers recently to undergraduate students. Highest package being 64lpa and average being between 15-20lpa. Almost 50% of tech batch is placed despite market slowdown. My personal plan after getting a degree being doing a job itself.

Total fees is almost 8.5 lakh for whole course. Last filed fees was 2.29 lakh per annum for year 2023-24. Fee hike is 10% per annum. Multiple government and institute organised scholarships are available to students of lower income level belonging to economically weaker sections of society. Till date 50% of tech branch students are placed despite market slowdown. Average stipend for internships is 60k.

A multitude of fests take place here at DTU including a major cultural fest, engifest, that is held during transition period from Feburary to March. This is preceded by a major tech fest Invictus DTU organising multiple hackathons. Almost every book is available in the library for research purposes. Classrooms are fully equipped with ACs and modern amenities. Multiple sports fest take place and there is a large cricket and football ground coupled with indoor badminton and table tennis facilities. There are multiple societies of DTU major ones being cultural council that is responsible for engifest, igts and decoder being major tech clubs, pratibimb being the drama society and madhurima being the musical face of DTU.

Got admission through JEE mains examination an all India wide merit based examination for grade 12 science students and the sole mean to enter delhi government colleges across India.
