Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose EC due to placements and teaching was good in KLE tech. Top companies like Bosch, Sony, applied materials, Benz, Microsoft, Accenture and Infosys came for placements. There were 120 students in EC and 15 professors. Advantage in teaching was it's a open ended course, consisting of not only teaching. But minor, capstone and major projects from first semester. Also there were events, humanities training, placement preparations, mock interviews etc. Exam was medium range difficult. Since KLE was autonomus that time, questions used to be prepared in college itself and we used to have a proper study plan.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Government companies like drdo, isro rolled internship with good packages. Problems statements were challenging. Other companies like Bosch, Microsoft, Accenture used to give internship. And successful intenships lead to offer in the same company.

Placement Experience

4

Campus used to start in 6th semester end. Even internship was starting in 7th semester. Companies were Bosch, Sony, Microsoft, applied materials, Accenture, Infosys, Tesco etc. Microsoft offered 12 lacs. Average salary was 5 lpa. Around 90% was the campus placements. I joined company Tesco after my placements

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no fees hike. SNQ quota used to cost 3090 and exam fees was 2000. Books were given for study on rotation basis from the college itself for very nominal fees. Scholarships like Vidyaposhak, alumni for ndation, MHRD, backward casts and lic golden jubilee foundation helped us for study. Anyone can apply for this based on the merit. I got placed in Tesco technologies as campus placements. Attended other interviews like Microsoft, Sony, applied materials.

Campus Life

4.5

There were many fests like insignia, IEEE, iste events, annual college fests. They were generally conducted during November or December. Books were provided by college library and alumni foundation. Classrooms were migrated to smart classes. All rooms had projectors. Good encouragement was given to sports activities by Gymkhana. Inter college sports was good. Students used to represent college at state and national levels. Social groups were IEEE, iste, amc etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Rooms were available at two prices new and old. Room was available in single, two and three sharing. It was neat and clean. No extra facilities. We used to have common tv for entire hostel. Meal was pure veg. Every day different food was given. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner used to cost 1500 per month. Every month end sweet was given. Hostel was very affordable. Every year beginning we used to pay 17000. Locality was inside campus in Vidya nagar, Hubli.

Admission

I wrote cet exam of Karnataka state. I wanted to opt for CS. later I changed my mind due to deman in EC for companies and teaching in kle was good. My ranking was 1418. All information was available online. Opted for EC in Super Numarary quota. It was online ne selection process for the seats. Since mine was SNQ quota, I had to pay 3090 rupees as admission fees. I didn't take any reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the NIAT curriculum around four out of five. In my opinion, it is good that the curriculum is not only based on theoretical studies. The inclusion of coding, projects, assignments, and practical knowledge is quite engaging for the students, as they can apply the acquired information in practice. Additionally, I find the curriculum up to date compared to the standard Btech syllabus, which mainly focuses on theoretical background. However the curriculum could have fewer assignments, as some of them are rather time consuming and require additional study to achieve a better understanding of a particular subject.

Placement Experience:

The on-campus usually starts in 6th Semester. A company called MathCo was the first company it came for the role of analyst. Around 5-7 people got selected. The average package would be usually around 4-4.5 LPA, but highest package was 6.25 from PlanetSpark for role of Sales. The percentage is nearly to 10-12%. After degree, get a job and work for atleast 2 years for learning current trends is my basic thought as of now.
