Best place for Agri studies.

I've chosen this course especially in LPU is because of it's diversity and the world class environment. Every professor in the agriculture department is a PhD holder and professors are very much teacher friendly and always available to the students. In each department (agronomy, genetics etc..)there are atleast 80-100 professors. Exams in LPU are conducted twice in a semester (mids and end term) and if the student is active throughout the semester,its not a big deal to pass exams.

These days as everyone knows there is a decline in the opportunities. Even after all these challenges LPUs faculty is trying hard to bring good internships to students. Generally BSc graduates get hired for the roles of sales and marketing. If you need to get placed in a good position I would personally suggest to pursue any master degree.

LPU provides placement classes right from the first year but generally students become eligible after completion of their 3rd year . Recently many companies such as ITC, Bayer, Syngenta,Fasal, Adani Wilmar and some Ed tech companies have also visited LPU and hired some 250-300 students. Around 70% students get placed in Agriculture department.

In the year of 2020 i.e, when I joined, my fees was around 98000/sem without deducting scholarship and now (2024) it's around 120000/sem. And you'll get scholarships according tou your performance in LPU NEST and Lpu also provides loans to the students and students also avail scholarships in sports quota as well. Rn I'm doing an internship in Syngenta,ind, Ltd with a stipend of 12k/ month and many of friends are also placed in companies like ITC Ltd, Bayer, Adani Wilmar, Fasal and etc.

You'll find something happening in the university everyday in the campus. UNIPOLIS is one such place where all the events at LPU happen and we also have an UNI Mall inside the campus.and a huge library, ACs in the classrooms ,huge playgrounds ,and there are many organisations( clubs) in LPU which you can join to improve yourself and personally I'm part of two organisations (Pradyut foundation and IAAS LPU).

Facilities in hostels are decent as you get different types of hostels like AC ,Non AC ,4 seater 3,seater ,2 and 1 seaters. Every hostel has two types of mess (South Indian and North Indian). And if someone wants to live outside the campus there are many areas where you can get PGs at an affordable prices .(Lawgate, Hardaspur, chaheru,Phagwara).

The admission process is based on the entrance test conducted by lpu with the name LPU NEST and the amount of scholarship you get is also dependent on the result of the test. The fees for LPU NEST exam is 1000rs and you can apply it from ( nest.lpu.in).
