GITAM - Studying here will be a great experience for life!!!

If I am given a chance again to study there, I will definitely do that. Because it changed my perception and lifestyle all togeather. My college is so good in education. Gitam University’s environment is so good that you can achieve your goal. The University is one of a kind university which makes you feel as your second home. Its infrastructure is so good. I am so attracted to Gitam University from its awesome infrastructure and buildings. It is the best university which I found in my state Andhra Pradesh. The main thing is the faculty which makes sure to help you to achieve your dream jobs.

There is a separate entrance for GITAM that is GAT which will be conducted every year. One should write this exam to secure a seat in the college. Based on the rank obtained, counseling date will be fixed. On the counseling date, we can choose the branch based on the availability of seats on the priority basis. As my interest in Telecommunications made me to take ECE which would the best in the college.

ECE at GITAM is considered as one of best across the state. The curriculum is balanced in such a way that there is scope for gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge. All the Labs are well Equipped and Student to Equipment ratio would not exceed 3:1 that is 3 Students for an Equipment. Even there is Student Club named GUSAC - GITAM UNIVERSITY STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER which will always have an environment of innovations and It is here we can get support for our projects across the departments. Elective Options are Available to students in Final Year. Electives I took in my Final Year are Speech Processing, Telecommunication Switching Networks in 4-1 and Robotics and Automation, Computer Networks in Final Semester.

We should search for an intern by the end of 6 th academic year. I did my internship at BSNL. It is a very good experience and the stipend depends on where you do the internship and the area of internship.

They were good. Mostly, everyone in the college gets placed. In our college out of 800 members, 511 members have got placed in TCS which is a very proud moment for us. Coming to the salary, it depends on how the student performs. Companies like TCS, Microsoft, Accenture, Deloitte and much more have visited our college.

Fests are something which we boast of. we have many fests around the year with some wonderful events and nice participation from students. These fests bring talents hidden in students. Even celebrities attend fests in our college. Some of the fests to mention are GUSAC Carnival, Enquesta, GEM Fest. Even students from other colleges in Visakhapatnam attend the fests in our colleges.

The fee is a bit high compared to other colleges. But the infrastructure available here is the best in the state. The Fee structure when I Studied is Rs. 1,69,000/- for college and Rs.72,000 for Hostel. There is 10% hike in the fee for next academic year.

As GITAM is renowned college, All banks are ready to offer loans for our studies. Even eligible students are given scholarships of Rs.10,000/- a semester.

There are clubs like G-Studio and Kalakriti which have people of all sorts as members. Even they organize many awareness campaigns. Even we have GITAM NCC and NSS which are open to all students to join and contribute.

Yeah, I stayed at college boys hostel. GITAM provides a nice hostel facility which had made me feel like home far away from home. The Hostel Fee will be Rs. 72000/- per annum which covers even the mess charges. Rooms are spacious with 2-3 students per room with common bathrooms. We even have the Indoor sports complex, Gym, Big playground, and TV Facility. Food will be very nice. Even nice canteens are available on the campus which are quite affordable. There are even hostels outside the campus which are not run by the college.

We all are connected in college groups and on an official GITAM Alumni Connect.

Regarding Labs and Exams, There will be at most 2-3 labs a week which are eye-openers in my view. The faculty is assigned to 20 students and he will help us out with all the problems we face while doing the Lab. There will be 3 internal MID exams for each subject which will cover 40 marks and external semester exam will be for 60 marks. In that internal marks, 5 marks will be for Assignments/Quizzes, 5 marks will be for Attendance and 30 marks are taken from MIDS in best of 2 in 3 methods. Even students with attendance less than 60% will not be allowed to write semester exams / detained.

Faculty at GITAM are well qualified and They are mostly alumnus of Either IIT's Or NIT's. Even the way they thought are well planned and there will be monthly feedback given by the students. The Concepts thought in a week can be practiced in Labs of that week itself. There will be weekly quizzes, assignments and class tests.
