The college is good in all respects except the infrastructure which is gradually improving. The academic department is soon to be replaced while various mega hostels and mess have been built.

Admissions for Indian students are solely through Jee mains while foreign students come through DASA. There is no other way to join college of national importance.

The course is good. There is sufficient balance between theory and practical screening. The research initiatives need to be taken by the student but they get full support from the institute.

The internship is offered at the beginning of third year. Many companies come for offering internships. Even college recruits students for website designing etc and offer them a stipend of Rs 20000 around for the period.

The placement of the college is very good. Package varies from branch to branch but 75-80% students in all branches get placed. Branch - Average placement is as follows : CSE-10lakhs p.a ECE-8-10lakhs p.a EEE-6-9lakhs p.a Metallurgy - 5.5-6.5lakhs p.a Mechanical-6-8 lakhs p.a Production-5-7 lakhs p.a Civil-5-6 lakhs p.a Many major companies such as Amazon, jio, TCS, Infosys, L&T etc visit the campus.

There are 2 major fests- OJASS and CULFEST. OJASS is a technical fest that has many events from various technical event including robotics, coding, silicon Valley etc. It has a combined prize money of 22lakhs while is the most in East India. Students from various institutions come and participate for the events. CULFEST is a cultural fest. It has various events such as singing, dance show, ramp walks and other fashion shows. Various celebrities are chief guests for various events.

The fee structure is based on the parents income. If parents income is greater than 5lakhs annually, then tuition fee is Rs 62500 per semester while for students having less parents income are entitled to fee concession. In either cases, Mess fee of Rs 16500 need to be paid per semester.

College do not provide scholarships of their own but there are various scholarships in offerings by Central government, State government and various NGO's and private sectors. Loan is easy to get through the SBI bank located within the campus.

Proper inductions are taken for all the clubs and sport teams and necessary training are provided, hence there is ample opportunities to explore.

Hostel is magnificent. Nit Jamshedpur is among rare institutes of India that has single rooms for all the 4 years students. The hostel fees is included in the semester fee.

There is Alumni Meet once a year where various alumni's are invited to share their experiences in life which can help the modern students.

There are 3 exams and 1 lab exam in a semester. Exams carry 20,20 and 40 marks each. While the rest 20 marks are based on assignments and surprise quizzes. Lab exam has weightage for viva, lab reports and attendance.

The qualification of faculties vary. Some are extremely qualified while some are average but all the teachers are PhD certified.
