Remarks

No such bad remarks about the college.Only concern sometimes we feel is the small area of the college. The college has small playground which is sometimes a drawback but to people who are not interested in sports, it may not matter.

Entrance Preview

The entrance examination that I took after my intermediate was Eamcet. I got a rank around 10000. The reasons for opting Vasavi College was that it was one of the top engineering college in Hyderabad. Its reputation, the college infrastructure, the discipline of the students and some advice from friends

Internships Opportunities

The College does not provide any internship by its own. Interested students can go to internship and after the completion of the internship, they are required to submit the certificate to the college.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college has got an excellent placement record from many years including this year where as some other colleges struggled to get the placements as expected normally. Some of the few companies that visit our campus are Microsoft(15L), Oracle(9L), Deloitte(6L), Infosys(4.5L), Cognizant(5.5L), JP Morgan(7.5L), Amazon Development(14L), Accolite(10L), Pegasystems(8.13L), Adobe systems(20L) etc...

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is somewhat high which sometimes feels like a burden to both students and parents. The fee is hiked and has reached to 1.60lakhs per annum from 2018.It definitely is expensive for students who can't pay that huge amount. The fee was 1.22L the previous year. Also, the bus fee and exam fee are additional fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has some education loan facility but not many of us actually heard of it often. The students get fee reimbursement of Rs.35,000 and they need to pay the remaining fee. The students can also get education loan from banks at low-interest rates which can be repaid.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life in Vasavi is what a student actually dreams of. The campus life includes many activities like Acumen(Technical fest), Euphoria(Cultural Fete), Kriti(Annual Art Exhibition) and many more. The gender ratio is 50:50.The labs are excellent with required lab equipments. Also, many sports are played in the college like cricket, basketball, football, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, carroms etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are within a distance of 2-3 kms from College and can be reached within 5 minutes. The hostel rooms are good and they are shared rooms. The mess food is good and most of the students are happy with the food. The hostels have wifi, hot water facilities and many more

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a separate portal for the passed out students so that they can reconnect again and also can connect with the current students. It is very helpful as juniors can get valuable suggestions from senior students which is actually required.

Exam Structure

The exam structure in Vasavi is divided as two internals(mids) and an end semester external examination.During the internals, 2 exams are conducted per day, one in the morning and the other in afternoon.Sometimes it feels hectic but after the end of exams, we feel chilled out.

Admission

The admission process was the same as any other college. The seats were allocated by convenor quota and the other by management quota. After getting allotment of seat, we need to report at the college within the given date with the required documents. The notification was released in august. The classes started in september.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty in the college are amiable. They are kind and help out the students in each and every possible manner they can. If students have any doubts/problems they cant discuss in the class, we can do it personally with the faculty.I personally feel that Vasavi has got the best experienced faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
