What Students Say

Likes

Campus views are great. Campus is filled with greenery.
Infrastructure is up to date and modern.
Faculty is not too bad. All computer science professors are good.

Dislikes

The toilets are really bad and unhygenic.
The mess food is not so great and has a long way to being edible and enjoyable.
Grocery area or canteen is average and has room for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Sciences is the best course in the University because of its high demand in the industry and good packages. The course curriculum teaches basic to advanced coding and extra curricular to enhance personality. The exams in the course are quite easy and prepare you for the industry.

Class Size: 104Course Fees: INR 170000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Summer internships are available at the university and students are assisted by the training and placement cell. Companies like infosys, cognizant, CGI and many more come to the college. In conclusion, opportunities are available.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placement in 7th semester. Various companies visit the campus but the placement is not great. Though off campus placements are good. The highest off campus placement of 2023 was 45 LPA from CSE.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tye tuition fee is stable and is around 1,70,000 per year. The hostel costs around 23,000 per year. Scholarship can be claimed with JEE mains on the basis of rank. Scholarship can also be claimed by maintaining a CGPA of 8.5 and above.

Campus Life

College hosts one fest every year called TITIKSHA and a sports fest called SARANG. The library has a range of books from academics to literature. Some classrooms are well equipped with smart screens and speakers. College offers a range of sports with good equipment. Various Student made clubs are also present on campus.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are average or above average at best. They include two small cabinets. The mess food is quite average. Hostels are alloted during admission and are quite affordable. Toilrts are very unhygenic and dirty, broken and unrepaired.

Admission

Admission in Computer Sciences in SMVDU was quite smooth. The hardest part was getting a hostel. The application form is availaible on www.smvdu.ac.in . The University accepts JEE Mains scores and CUET scores. Three exams are conducted each sem, two minors and a major. Difficulty level is quite easy.

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester student become eligible for placement. The companies visited are L &T for civil which is big company and select many students, jsw for mechanical and increff , paypal , microsoft, visa ,make my trip for IT and CSE

My best college

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in 8th semester. Companies like L&T construction, Ambuja cement, tata , wipro, jio , Berger, infosys, IBM and many more visit the college. Highest package is around 17 LPA and average package is around 5 LPA . Almost 30 percent students get placement. My plan is to get off campus placement.

The placement of our college is Average and the students are eligible in 7 semester for placement. If the student has any backlog in any of the semester they can't sit in the college placement and also it has minimum criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The percentage of students getting placement is very low sadly

The placement at my college are fairly strong, with a focus on proving opportunities for student in both technical field and non-technical fields. various reputed companies visit our campus for placement like TCS, infosys, and many more.The highest package aroun INR 40 LPA. the majority of the offers are for cybersecurity. My plan is for business after the degree.

Remarks:

The positive of this college is that the environment is academic friendly and there is a level of strictness maintained by the college authorities. Lack of modern infrastructure and absence of various general and academic facilities hampers the ideal college life of balancing the knowledge and enjoying the college time.

Review about Shri mata vaishni devi university

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

My college, the education mine

Remarks:

Little partiality with some students and once teachers find u little mis behaving, They start hating u And give u good marks, Not a good infrastructure and not a good campus view. Very much constrution needed. And very less courses Offered.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students. I don't get any rejection from any other colleges....Read More
