Student Independent Environment: Event Management by Students as most of event are managed by students. They do not have to remain dependent on college.
Up To Date Curruiculum: Syllabus taught here is up to dated.
Friendly Faculty: Faculty have very friendly nature with students

Dislikes

Less Infrastructure: No Matter studies and environment is good . But campus remain behind due to lack of infrastructure
Non Wifi Campus: As a technical Institute it must have wifi for students.

All the Faculty Members and Professors at IKGPTU Amritsar campus are well qualified and trained in their profession. They provide learning and information as per latest trends in tech market

Placement Experience

Students studying in 6th semester are eligible for seeking On- Campus Placements. Average pakage of IKGPTU amritsar campus is 8 LpA . Companies like Accenture,Scaler, Cognizant,Byjus etc visit campus for hiring student for their companies. On an Average 50 students from a 60 student batch get placed in companies by On Campus Placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Pursuing B.Tech at IKGPTU Amritsar Campus is very affordable. Total fee for 4yr course is 4 lakhs including all expense (not hostel). Even if you have merit in your previous class you can also avail fee waiver scholarship. Except this students with SC caste can avail Total fee waiver scholarship.

This campus will provide you a good exposure to events. There are various clubs running in present i.e NSS Club, Technoverse: The Technical Club, Kalakriti: The Cultural club and many more. Less annual events are held in campus, But these clubs remain organising events in campus frequently. Many extra curricullar activities are also being run in campus.

Admission

Admission process in IKGPTU Amritsar is very simple. There is no entrance exam for taking admission in college. Even low marks in JEE exam are also accepted. You can register on amritsar.ptu.ac.in for taking admission. Students with SC caste can avail scholarships easily. Application fee for registering is 500 rs. After that you have to be shortlisted in merit list. If you are shortlisted you have to appear in counselling session whose charges are 2000 rs. In counselling session you have just to verify your documents.

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
